My "setup" hehe 🪰
"Forgotten door"
Unexpected plein air!!!
May was tough.
I tried to learn by book/lessons, tried ink, got stuck in a loop of self-criticism twice, and almost broke my drawing pace...
But I'm still here! Mainly because of the people who show up sometimes. If you liked reblogged or commented on my work at least once, I want you to know that I value it very very much 🥹. Thank you.
My focus in June for now is just to get back to regularity and enjoy making art.
Oh, and Happy Pride Month!🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
"The Pond"
... I bought a fountain pen
A few years ago I tried analog photography. I bought the cheapest old camera and the cheapest black and white film just to... give it a shot🤣. And only after I finished it, turned out almost no one in my city could process the thing.
Then I asked around and met that guy, a photographer, who rented a small studio and agreed to help. He had a lot of gear, and so many shots printed on different paper. The whole place was in such chaos, as if it were abandoned, which caused even more curiosity of mine. Did I meet a fucking wizard or what?
The guy was like an open book. We had a very looong extremely boring philosophical conversation about art and capitalistic culture... He talked more, of course. The Unicue 99% of concentrated dull bullshit, none of which I can recall (I'm a fan, actually, just a bad one). But there was one thing, that still holds in my memory.
"I always do an exhibition," he said. "Not for the people, but for myself. The whole point is to take a look aside, see a bigger picture and the evolution behind it. To go further with better understanding yourself. How do you want to represent your works? Which do you pick and why? These are also very important questions to catch and develop your inner style."
I went home after that and thought: "You pathetic smartass, it's obvious. I also do a review for myself". However, I took out my old watercolors and put them on the wall with a sticky tape.
And something happened.
Remember that scene from Life is Strange, where Max's standing in front of her works?
Yeah. I saw more than I expected on that wall. My subconscious spoke to me. It's always been. The question is: am I listening? Since then, I do those mini-exhibitions sometimes.
My black and white shots came out awful, by the way. I never came back to analog photography :D
I went back to watercolor, though! Then I gave up and returned again (for now)... But this is a different story.
Last few weeks the lvl of crappiness in this blog grew extremely high. On one side, I enjoy it 🫣😳😈😜. On the other, I look at those photos made under my desk lamp and ew... I should definitely change that lamp bulb! And scan and reupload those drawings. And draw under the sun more often!!!
Dean Winchester completes me, and that's what makes you lose your chickens.
Supernatural 10.01
New wip, I guess🥴
I tried to make a quick sketch while watching, but it turned into an hour. Couldn't stop making fun of it so far, though 🤣🤣🤣

Something really quick to not forget how to use watercolor, while I'm trying to dig into basics😁

Rotating cubes
No ruler, just tried to imagine them and put on paper

Well, I tried Drawabox lessons, and my head nearly exploded. The way they explained feels like an additional layer of struggle to me...
I still need to understand space and shapes, though. So I decided to just draw and rotate cubes until something clicks in my head 😁
