I do not own any of the works posted below, either by authors or artists. If I post some of your work and you wish it to be removed, please let me know. I try to always give credit on my own posts, and find credit for reblogged ones.
Also, I do not agree with every quote I post. I do post quotes from fictional characters and other people including Tamora Pierce. Sometimes I don't agree with a character, but I post their opinion anyway. I love these characters but I don't always agree with them.
Comfortable-with-her-sexuality bi!Beka always stopping to leave a prayer and a small offering to the queer girl's temple, where her younger sister is in training to be a priestess
yes yes yes yes!!!!!! the beka cooper series is amazing to me partially because of the view we are able to get of the city, and therefore it makes sense to picture queer girls in temples in beka's time!!! i like that a lot. :))))))))))))
ok what if there was a temple/diety in the tortallan world that was focused on queer girls (similar to how the great mother goddesses temple in corus focuses on women), and there was this huge corus temple/safe-house for queer girls whose family disowns them/homeless queer girls/members of the rogue court who are queer/queer girls who are closeted/queer girls whose family know and approve but still need support/queer girls who want to meet other queer girls BASICALLY I NEED A QUEER CENTER IN CORUS WHERE QUEER GIRLS CREATE THEIR OWN MYTHOLOGY
What's your dream Tamora Pierce novel? Would it center around an already established character? A child of one of the favorites? More Alanna? Daine? Sarai? Lark? Crane? Would it focus on the history of Scanra, or Carthak? Perhaps an unexplored Emelan land?
Personally, I've always dreamed about a book about a girl who lives in Corus and is a thief/flower seller and a member of George's court. Just cos I'm all about that Rogue life.
As many of us know, Tammy is a huge animal lover. So in honor of her birthday (December 13th), we’ve decided to have a donation drive for The Humane Society of New York.
If you visit this page and scroll down, there is an option to donate “In honor of”. We’re asking that you choose this and donate whatever you can in Tamora Pierce’s honor. Alternately, if you would rather donate goods, they have a list of suggested donations here and an Amazon Wish List, which you can find here.
This will officially run from December 13 to December 31, 2013.
After you have donated, if you could send us a message (anon or not) with what you have donated we would appreciate it. We’d like to be able to announce the total of what was donated at the end.
We feel like this is a small way to honor a woman who has given us so much.
“Curiosity killed the cat,” Fesgao remarked, his dark eyes unreadable.
Aly rolled her eyes. Why did everyone say that to her? “People always forget the rest of the saying,” she complained. “‘And satisfaction brought it back.”
As the ship Gwenna glided through the entrance of Rajmuat harbor, a young woman of seventeen years leaned against the bowrail, taking in her surroundings through green-hazel eyes.
Daja Kisubo, adrift in the Pebbled Sea. Daja is a great character - I tried to simulate the dried salt on her skin but it’s not as effective as I hoped. I was going to do the sky and sea in reds and oranges but a line in her book stopped me - she was a Blue Trader. It had to be blues.
When she sat up and looked at herself, Daja thought she was a ghost. Her skin was all sparkly white. Had an enemy mimander turned her from a brown trader into a white one? Why on earth would anyone do such a thing?
Makeup test and wig test for Kel? The wig definitely needs some other colours in it and some trimming, but doing the freckles was fun (does she have freckles? I feel like she gets them in the summer but couldn’t find my copies. Also, what’re your opinions on her hair in terms of colour/cut? I kinda envisioned her hair always being a bit rough, like she trimmed it herself…)
"Tsk, tsk," Rosethorn said mockingly from her station. "I can’t imagine you would have forgotten that our four charges speak mind-to-mind without physical contact.”
“I think the tea’s boiling over,” muttered Osprey, darting away.
“Rosethorn,” Crane said ominously.
