While that is true, not too many are aware of its existence.
“Connect” reminds me that no matter what, Homura will never be truly happy. For that matter, I don’t think Madoka will ever be completely happy, seeing what Homura’s become.
I know the entire series has been around for a while now, but I don’t find the end result -- much less the journey there -- any less heartbreaking.
EDIT: Except if Madoka takes Homura with her before things have a chance to go down the tubes.

watamote is a disgusting anime and i wish japan wouldn’t romanticize that kind of behavior
alright saying that “japan” is romanticizing social anxiety is uh really incorrect
plus the whole point of the anime is to portray that lifestyle as horrible and uncomfortable. the main character is obviously very unhappy, lonely, and does not enjoy her life. her lifestyle is portrayed as unhealthy. she wants to make friends, she wants to have fun, she wants to socialize. but her social anxiety gets in the way of that! she spends a lot of time convincing herself that she is doesn’t need people, friends, or boyfriends, but these self-projected illusions are usually shattered very quickly.
we can assume that, at the end of the anime, she will have either recovered from her anxiety or learned to cope with it, and will have become a happy, healthy young woman.
i’d also like to point out that a.) introvert lifestyles are not unhealthy or bad if the introvert themself is happy and healthy and b.) sometimes it’s nice for people with social anxiety to have characters to relate to, it’s also quite possible that they will be inspired by the character’s recovery and will make steps towards overcoming their anxiety.
I’ve also seen a lot of people shit on Watamote because Tomoko is sexist and hateful. Last episode she said something akin to “You stupid bitches should stop reading, so that I can at least beat you at something!”
Tomoko reminds me so much of my mother and other chronically narcissistic people. Tomoko is only barely aware of her own flaws. Whenever someone acts to her kindly (or in a way she perceives as kind), she completely overblows it. When people treat her unkindly (or in a way she perceives as unkind), she always blames the other party.
The people wanting to comment or get the ants off of her were actually so enamored with her radiant sex beauty that they couldn’t help themselves and touch her/talk to her. When the two random people in the library didn’t want to go out with her to the fireworks because she didn’t talk to them, it was because they were terrible people who don’t appreciate how nice she is.
At first I thought Tomoko was just socially anxious, then I thought she was autistic, but now I think she’s just narcissistic/so full of herself and in love with her romanticized ideal of her situation that she’s not even bothering to fix it.
I know way too many people who are like it, and it’s just so sad. In order for Tomoko to “get better,” she needs a sharp slap in the face to realize that it’s HER fault that she’s in this situation and that SHE needs to make long-term, permanent changes in her world outlook and how she treats others in order to have friends, a boyfriend and a social life.
This is so hard to do, and many people don’t do this without going through something like a divorce or having someone die. So I doubt Tomoko will be able to make such a meaningful change so easily.
It’s already been clarified that she’s almost always unable to speak with those outside of her family. She constantly stutters and uses a low voice. Sure, she has serious problems with her own personality, but it’s pretty clear that she has crippling social anxiety. Slapping her would do nothing but create more problems. Besides, most of her less savory behavior and attitudes fail to show themselves to others outside of the most familiar of familiars.

Well, it’s no Ace Attorney Investigations 3 - in fact, it’s not really canon - but the Tokyo Joypolis theme park has announced the third episode of its Ace Attorney-themed attraction! Set around AA3, the episode sees Phoenix come to the defense of Desirée DeLite, who has become an actress since 3-2. When one of her coworkers turns up dead, Desirée becomes the prime suspect, and it’s up to Phoenix (and the players!) to prove her innocence.
The attraction will open on September 17th. Visitors who play will also have the opportunity to receive a special card with the bottom-most art, drawn by Iwamoto Tatsurou.
Canon or not, the artwork is awesome.

SZ’s Headcanon Ramblings - The Cooking skill of Puyo Puyo
This came to mind while imagining some very “Tales of”-like skits for a theoretical Puyo RPG. For this example, I’m gonna be using Madou ARS, Draco, Lagnus, and Satan.
Arle is the One Note Cook. When you’re introduced to the cooking mechanic, Arle demonstrates with with Curry, which is a staple dish in the Puyo series. Her skill with cooking Curry is the highest between Rulue and Schezo…but that’s it. When you learn more recipes, she’s not at all a great chef outside of curry.
Rulue is your resident Lethal Chef. She just straight up SUCKS. Oftentimes you’ll hear her know what ingredients Recipe XYZ uses, but she mishmashes it together and it coagulates into something utterly wrong. A running gag is that Schezo yells at her to stay out of the kitchen.
Schezo is surprisingly the Supreme Chef of the party. Since he’s been living on his own, he taught himself the basics for survival necessity, and improved gradually. He doesn’t put much thought into presentation, but the taste is proof enough that he knows what he’s doing. Arle trusts him with preparing dinner the most out of everyone.
Satan only knows how to cook the fancy schmancy high-class dishes. The reason? To impress Arle of course. He wants to treat her to a high-class romantic dinner for two on their honeymoon. Of course, I did say ONLY the fancy dishes. He can’t make sandwiches, omelettes, anything simple and homey.
Lagnus is okay. As a warrior who travels far, he knows some of the simple recipes, but that’s it. Very much so by-the-book. Any of the more advanced recipes is more often than not a miss.
Draco varies EXTREMELY WILDLY. Since she breathes fire, she often cooks things to a crisp to varying success rates. Depending on how she’s feeling, she can make something decent, or just a burnt lump of what used to be foodstuffs. Worst case scenario? A piece of fish that has a black char that’s somehow still raw.
I’m dead. Draco did it.
I’m sorry, but I absolutely hate bugs. Call me Misty, they’re disgusting.

watching anime like
This seems to be primarily (at least borderline) hentai.
So, I paint my nails pretty regularly these days. I also work as a barista/cashier pretty regularly these days. A few weeks back, I had a customer come in, a fairly typical, sheltered, suburban soccer mom, and she ordered a latte from me. She saw my brightly colored nails and said, “Wow, you’re so brave! My son asked me about painting his nails, and if it’s okay for boys to do that. Now I’ll tell him there’s a cool guy who does it too!” It was a nice moment, very cute.
Then, last week, she came in again, and said, “Hey, I’m so glad you’re here! I want you to meet someone!” She then brings her son forward, and says, “Okay sweetie, show him what you did!” And he throws his hands up, showing off his bright, sparkling blue nails. He shows them off, and I show mine off to him. He smiles. We fist bump.
Guys, I’ve only wanted to cry once at work before, and that was when someone ordered a large dry soy cappuccino on ice.
This time, though. This was a good cry.
I was expecting something where someone was being judgemental and nasty but got a pleasant surprise I love this
I’ve actually considered painting my nails recently. Two reasons why I haven’t done so yet:
1. I don’t have my own nail polish/remover.
2. My mother is horribly judgmental.
