         “IF I EVEN hear the sound of sleigh bells, I’m going to kill someone.” Justin never really enjoyed the holidays but the music was quite possibly the worst part. ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and ‘Santa Baby’ were among his top worst songs.

Not just his appearance though- His words too, and the tone.. It was too much for the poor male. “U-Um.. I-I.. She missed how easy it was to manage everything in the summer when all she had to do was carry a whistle and a clipboard.

           “CAN YOU SCOOT over maybe a few inches?” His reason for the request was mostly so the stranger would be blocking the sun from where he was trying to nap and was far too lazy to turn away.

     River was startled by Justin. even though he was the one staring at the smoker and watched as the stranger had noticed. River looked around him for anyone else Justin could be talking to. After realising there wasn’t anyone else around, River pointed to himself and tilted his head as if to ask ‘Me?’.

           “YEAH, YOU.” JUSTIN decided to put out his cigarette on the bench he was reclining in, scooting over so there was room for another. He knew a bench in a shady alley beside his building was not the nicest place to hang around with a stranger, but he was trying to be welcoming. “You can sit if you want.”

                              Eyebrows rise as Seth staring questioningly to the woman who had stored the magic book moments ago. The statement uttered had given him pause, not heart stopping like one could imagine, but just a moment. “A long story?” What a bizarre choice of words. Out of all the books in the library on many different topics, she chooses that one, a book on spells and curses.. Needless to say, Seth’s interest had been aroused.

“Pardon my boldness, but what possible use could you make of a book based on fantasy?” Seth mutters while folding his hands. “Unless you’re planning on fixing some weird witches brew, the only thing that it could fix is an annoying fly.…” Playing it smart, deny anything magic related. Deny or just not mention it.

“Listen, personally if it’s bugs or something, I’d suggest a flyswatter.”

             “I REALLY CAN’T say, I’m afraid.” Blake frowned, pulling her arms close to her chest to show some of her discomfort with the topic. Thankfully, he hadn’t given any orders or instructions or he would have gotten a firsthand look at what her problem really was.

          WELL, HE TRIED to be civil. At least now he could say that she started it and not him. “What the hell are you talking about? You’re the one who splashed in the puddle all over me and ruined my pants.”

Yeah sure, give me a second.” Seth assures, before merely placing his hand on the spine of the book with ease, then pulling it out. “Symbols of the eternal, a hand guide to magical spells.” As far as genuine magical texts go, this book might of been full of horses crap. “Interested in this stuff? I never was too into fantasy much myself.”

            “...KIND OF. I only need it to fix something.” Unfortunately, the very thing she needed fixing was something she couldn’t speak about. The female merely took the book from him and tucked it into her bag. “It’s a long story.”

Lately she’d found herself in plenty of trouble for being unwelcoming to the customers and her boss had told her to lighten up and flirt a little, much to her frustration.
