While wearing them, you have resistance to fire damage, and you can cause harmless embers to spark from your heels when you walk (no action required). 𝘿𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝘼𝙪𝙧𝙖. You can use a bonus action while wearing the boots to begin emitting an aura of dread with a 30-foot radius. Hostile creatures within the aura that can see you have disadvantage on saving throws to against being frightened, and you can use a bonus action on each of your subsequent turns for the duration to force any hostile creatures within 10 feet of you make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you until the start of your next turn. This aura lasts for 1 minute or until you’re incapacitated. For the duration, your steps sound like hellish chains being dragged across the floor. Once this property has been used, it can’t be used again until the next dawn. 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙙. You can use an action while wearing the boots to summon a nightmare in your space, immediately becoming mounted on it (provided it is at least one size larger than you); this effect fails if there isn’t enough space for it to appear. The nightmare is equipped with a saddle, bit, and bridle, which vanish when it disappears. The creature is bound to you for as long you remain mounted on it, and it is friendly to you and your companions. The nightmare disappears if it’s reduced to 0 hit points or if you end your turn without being mounted on it. This nightmare can’t use its Ethereal Stride action. AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. They’ve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic’s AI training now threatens to “financially ruin” the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.

i’m begging you to name one thing more iconic than tirelessly passing the flame from one culture & generation to another out of nothing but SHEER LOVE for that culture, that generation, those words and that language. name one writer who has done as much for literature as the countless translators labouring over and over for months and even years on end to bring their words to as many people as possible because they love them THAT much – because they feel such joy and such a profound sense of connection and the first thing they decided to do was to want others to feel it THAT MUCH – because more than anything literature and art matters THAT much. it is the single biggest labour of love & devotion in any literary field and embodies ENTIRELY what the whole point of literature even is to begin with and yes this is the hill i will die on

💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Lion Door Guardian Wondrous item, uncommon ___
This brass door knocker is fashioned after a lion’s head. You can attach the knocker to an unlocked door by firmly pressing it against the door for 1 minute. The door then becomes locked, as if by the “arcane lock” spell. You choose the door’s password when attaching the knocker to it. Speaking the correct password to enter the door causes the knocker to emit a rumbling purr. If the door doesn’t have a handle, a brass handle in the design of a lion’s paw appears where one would normally go. The handle also has a physical lock, although there isn’t a key made to fit it.
If a creature attempts to pick the door’s lock or break the door down, the knocker transforms into a Large lion, including any handle it may have created. The lion appears in the nearest unoccupied space before the door and attacks the creature and its allies. Unless the creatures know the nature of the door knocker, they are almost always surprised. The transformed lion is made of brass: it uses the lion’s statblock, except that it’s a construct instead of a beast, it has immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition, and it has resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks.
The lion returns to its normal form and reappears on the door after 1 minute. If the lion is reduced to 0 hit points, it returns to its normal form on the ground at the foot of the door. Regardless, the lion regains all its hit points when it returns to its normal form. ___
