Reminder to myself after these last couple exams #determined

I knew going into nursing school it would not be easy. I started nursing school with a full plate and full aware it would be even more challenging. I can not wait until this journey is over. My hardest challenge of all is the lost time with my kids. As a mother the guilt of not being home, missing games, missing dinner, or studying all day while I am home kills everyday. I work in the mornings before school and get home around 8pm. I got through last semester and did well in school. This semester is much more challenging and the guilt is a 1000x worse. I pray I make it through the remaining 4 semesters not only so I can set a good example and a provide a better future but so that the sacrifice was worth something in the end. My fear is not making it and it all be a waste. I had my daughter at 16 in 10th grade and finished high school with honors. Then with 2 kids I went to ultrasound school and was able to take care of home with no issues. But nothing compares to nursing school and the challenge it is everyday. #exhausted #burnedout #itsalot #prayingforamiracle

I’ve debated for years about going back to nursing school as a single mom of 2. Most nursing programs are full time day programs which did not fit into my schedule. After praying about my decision for a long time I heard about Widener’s evening accelerated program. I felt like God had answered my prayers. I finally felt confident in my decision. I believe everything happens for a reason. Over the course of a few months so many things worked out in my favor, that put many of my concerns to rest. The journey has not been easy, but I am glad to say I am now in my second semester of nursing school.
