Not reciprocated
did expect a little something today. i thought he planned something for us. wala pala. i wish my effort was reciprocated when i planned his birthday. did everything that time. sad lang but will get past it.
Reality of being uncomfortable
Last year was a big reality check for me. It made me realize a lot of things specifically when it comes to adulting. It altered my brain chemistry for real this time. I am thankful tho. Even if I cried a lot of times adjusting and readjusting on situations so I could just fit in.
Last year was a rollercoaster ride for me but very thankful all of it happened. Cheers to more memories ahead :>

“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.”
— Mandy Hale
“Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just… start.”

Have you noticed, that when someone is telling you about a devastating ordeal in their life, and you get horrified, pained, and overwhelmed just from thinking about it, that you always imagine how that would feel on top of all of the pain you already have? Because for you, the pain and trauma you already have, is the default state, you can’t imagine someone else’s pain without what’s already on your plate. Whenever I feel concerned and upset for what other people have on their plates, I almost always feel that I would in no way be able to deal with that, wouldn’t be able to survive it. Because I’m adding it to everything I already have on my plate, and adding more would immediately overwhelm it.
I never considered how impossible it is to accurately imagine someone else’s situation, if your own is all you have to go off from. I feel it might be the reason some of us are empathic to the point where someone else’s pain always seems bigger and worse than our own – because we don’t consider it on its own, we add it to our own, and consider how big it would be then. We also fail to consider that our pain might be so big, that adding anything else to it would immediately be too much, it’s why we’re able to minimize it, we assume everyone else is already dealing with that level of pain, and then some extra on top.
That’s why it might feel like we’re not actually dealing with that much, when we’re close to overwhelm at all times. We compare ourselves to others even unconsciously, because we’re still unsure if ours is ‘that bad’ and if we’re 'weak for not handling it better’. Enduring as much pain as possible while acting stoic is not a mission that should ever be given to human beings, especially not children. It doesn’t matter if we’re weak or strong, this goes against our nature. We crave reassurance and comfort and cease of pain, and that’s what we should get to be healthy and well, regardless of the level of pain we’re in. Being forced to not cry out, to not reach out, to not even express that we’re in pain and look for someone who potentially has it worse, as a way to make ourselves feel bad about 'not being able to take it’, are all unhealthy, harmful ways to live. Nobody should be conditioned to compete with how much they can endure, or believe that they’re weak if they can’t. Nobody has the capacity to endure all the pain at once. Nobody should be forced to act like their pain isn’t there. Any amount of pain is a reason to get compassion and support. It doesn’t have to be the worst pain in the world. It doesn’t have to be compared to anyone’s.
Heavy on my privacy, what you see is what I allow.
You are ethereal
Fascinating beyond compare
You are merely a dream to my reality
A purity to behold amidst an everyday tragedy
Proof that there really is beauty amongst a mundane existence
Humble, contrary to the power you have
You hold my world at your fingertips
Although rather frightening,
It's hypnotic
You captivate me
“If it breaks your heart but opens your eyes, take that as a win.”
Imho the idea of ‘cruelty free’ products or food shouldn’t mean that nothing died to create it, but rather that anything and anyone involved in the creation process hasn’t been exploited or harmed.
Leather is good actually. Veganism isn’t the end all be all to morality and consumption. The issue isn’t that a chicken died for those nuggets, but that while the chicken was alive, it’s life fucking sucked. Vegan chocolate means little if the cocoa that made it was gathered by child slave labor.
Factory farms, abuses of the people who pick the fruit and vegetables we eat, the focus profit and productivity over all else - that’s the fucking issue here. It’s capitalism folks.
“A lot of the time you hear people say that the best thing people can do for nature is to stay away from it and let it be. There are places where that’s absolutely true and our people respected that. But we were also given the responsibility to care for land. What people forget is that that means participating—that the natural world relies on us to do good things. You don’t show your love and care by putting what you love behind a fence. You should be involved. You have to contribute to the well-being of the world.”

Two years later, still no justice.
In the middle of the night on March 13, 2020, Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT, was senselessly killed by police as she slept in her own home. Breonna was a daughter, friend, sister, and hero in her community.
Since her death, no one has been charged for her murder. The only semblance of justice that we have seen is the passing of the Breonna Law in Kentucky. But there is still much work to be done to ensure that other innocent people do not continue to lose their lives in the same manner.
Your name will forever be on our minds, in our hearts, and on our lips as we SAY YOUR NAME.
Rest In Power, Breonna 🕊️
