Ive talked to a couple friends about this and since it's my blog I guess I can rant about what I want lmao

Honestly, the amepan fandom has no meaningful content. And this absolutely isn't to dismiss the wonderful artists or writers who put their time into making media for this ship!! I just feel that it's all lacking. It doesn't have what a pair like America and Japan should have.

When all the videos on the tag are mindless fluff or memes, I really do understand people who call it boring. Like guys, we are not beating the "vanilla starter ship" allegations. There is such a deep and complex history spanning from the 1800s to the modern day that people outright ignore!

And I understand why many people would choose to avoid it. Most shippers I know are usually minors. I'm a minor myself, but you couldn't really trust them to make tasteful depictions of Amepan's brutal history. Past events are sensitive and especially in the context of Imperial Japan, but I do wish people would try more and properly depict it. I've also seen some genuinely racist headcanons floating around. Racism towards japanese people has been normalized in this fandom too, and it's like nobody cares?

Like, I hate to say it, but the haters are low-key right. It IS boring when we have so much to do. Rusame content is so wonderful and insightful in comparison, and I wouldn't blame people who think it's infinitely better for that reason.
