I love having a direction/goal to work the characters towards – when I write fiction on my own, I like having goals and plot points, like romances, family and friend relationships, rivals and enemies.. why wouldn’t I like having the same with RP? RP is just collaborative fiction writing!

There’s no shame in liking ships, or even RPing for ships. There’s tons of people in the world who love to read romance novels, and no one tries to tell them that’s wrong or worse than liking mysteries, or fantasy adventure. Neither preference is wrong, it’s just that – a preference!

ash is kinda a selfish prick, we been knew. but he needs to work together with talwyn for something, maybe to escape capture or to find something they both want for different reasons. he's flippant about her actual good intentions at first but she's able to win him over morally

ash in turn kinda encourages her to be a bit more selfish. she doesn't take it seriously cuz it's not her nature but she appreciates that he's looking out for her in his own way. really they probably both could stand to be, not selfish, but more independent

they both kinda come from lonely backgrounds but while talwyn is optimistic (if reasonably cautious), ash is really cynical. but i can just easily see ash being won over by her realistic idealism eventually and wanting to do good because she believes there's a point to it, they can improve things/he can be good

idk i kinda see their dynamic being like a combo of euge.ne/rapun.zel & ser.ah/noe.l

Finally found the courage to post this (even tho I messed up the dang hand on Hector and some other things UGH). My brain came up with this ship and, wellll, I had to draw it. It's taking place in a AU where Vendra ends up working for Hector and his company after being released from jail early. She's so freaking small in comparison to him golly gosh.

Also, this is a side Hector that I have never really had the chance to show before (at least from what I can remember anyway) and it only comes out when he's with someone he's cares a lot about, and I mean a lot. Of course it would take a long time for him to actually develop these kind of feelings towards someone, but it's possible.

i miss ash interacting with other OCs really & I h8 that im so anxious about crossing lines w/ people and hold myself back. cuz i have gotten backlash for getting carried away

I played some of the bla.ckwell games again recently & got inspired to make ash a bit more like joe g.ould. like it'd fit well for him to be claiming he's making an overly ambitious documentary that never materialises. ppl came forward after joseph mitche.ll wrote abt him to say joe gou.ld really did have manuscripts for his project but ash knows his goal is impossible. he just likes harrassing people for "footage".

ash is looking for meaning and he doesn't realise it. he stays neutral because he's afraid to close doors - choosing good means closing the door on possible meaning in villainy, and vice versa. he doesn't kill because that'd mean closing the door on pacifism. he was already forced to hurt people while being tested though, so torture's another story

it's contradictory because as an AI he craves information that will improve himself. you can't find new information without doing new things that might close doors. he needs to be convinced he's gotten all he can out of someone in order to let go. people not wanting him or being dangerous isn't relevant... if he had a way to get the information he needed without being in contact at all it wouldn't be a problem. but then again, it wouldn't be as fun.
