I’ve read so many manwha/webtoons where the “hook” happens the first second you start a new series . The big sex scene, the moment everything goes wrong , a huge reveal , ect ect then back to the past / or the actual beginning of the story.

Like … come one , I know it’s for engagement , but is it too brain broken to ask that ya actually write a consistent story instead of spoiling it ???!

I want the journey , the lead up , rising action and climax of a story- to be a part of that—not just it fucking dropped on me bc their trying to grab any eyes they can .

It feels sloppy , it feels like a cheat with no substance - a lot of them start this way .

Ofc I’ve enjoyed stories that have started this way , and I know the reasons and optics that go into this choice - but I’m ranting that it just sucks bc it feels like cheap storytelling .

Same thing when at the end of a chapter they be like “ at the time I never knew “ drops an image of smthing that happens 4 chapters later …. Like fucking wait man !!! Fuck !!!!!! Stop spoiling ur own readers !!!!!!!! >()
