A new law in Afghanistan means women cannot speak in public or sing in their own homes. They treat us like cows, says Haniya Frotan
something i think is rarely mentioned is that the only reason these things keep happening with little to no resistance is because the men in these women's lives are complicit. everywhere you see women suffering or silenced, whether it's with the sexual cyber crimes south korean men are committing against women, what's going on in india, the attacks in new york or the femicide in the UK, etc, all this is happening because other men are allying with these criminals rather than the women they allegedly care about.
it is their brothers, fathers, husbands, boyfriends, schoolmates, colleagues that make this enforcement possible and promote this suffering to an even larger scale. none of this would be possible if the men that "loved" these women were resistant to it. none of it would be possible if the men closest to women were not women's number 1 enemies.
name the oppressor and all his allies. name every traitor of women.
Men around us are usually complicit at best and direct perpetrators of harm against us at worst. Men are not "protectors" like they'd have is believe.
