Gouache and ink on watercolor paper. Intended to be practice, but turned out well!

#honestly really delighted how well this looks considering i only started using gouache a couple months ago! the ink interacts with it #in a curious way. Instant Dry Forever Ink vs Reactivates Upon Wetting Forever = Ink Slightly Thicker As The Greedy Paint Drinks It #im SO happy i decided to try a brush-style ink pen #it worked soooo beautifully for the leaves and it was my first time using it seriously instead of just scribbling to get a feel for it!#it was a little handy for thicker branches thicker than my 03 micron especially because my 05 micron did not agree with the gouache in a #reliable way. bit the gouache is such a slut for liquids it refused to take a thin line from the brush. it even thickened the 01 micron too #much for me to get the thin lines reliably. i just had to wait for the nub to get grumpy with the gouache and draw thin lines until the nub #went back to normal 😅 i hope it isnt damagjng the pens. theyre like $4 a #each which isnt terrible but also i cant buy new pens for every painting. i guess i could look into replacement nubs if the goauche turns #out to be harmful. no i dont know how to spell gouache.#anyways! what a nice 3rd attempt! first two attempts not photgraphed 🤭#sorenhoots #goauche #ink #sunset #silhouette #tree #trees

Trying gouache paint for the first time! Significantly different from acrylic. Pretty fun, might try to figure out some actual techniques now that I am more familiar with the medium's physical properties :3

brings back the "**A** dinosaur **A** day" to adad and potentially gives me more stuff to add to the queue, so it's a win/win for me - but only if people participate, so I need to gauge interest etc.

for some clarification - I would never, ever, expect anyone to be able to do all 365. that's ridiculous. we all have lives. but, it would provide a different prompt every day for people who want it, etc.

My sketch from lunch today 🥰

Doin a paint-by-number :3 fun way to discover painting techniques on my own! I'm adding some metallic paint to make some of the colors shimmer (the gold on the body of the main moth) and I'm going to be adding a little glow-in-the-dark paint on top of some areas, too >:3 can't wait to see how it turns out!
