Loud microphone feedback, like an unreasonably loud sound coming from outside. Who the fuck is doing that at this hour? It's like 2 AM...

Outside there's a van, someone holding a microphone that's connected to a speaker and saying, "Yoooo, it's me, I know you want me dead or whatever but I got a question for ya'." A pause. "It's work related."

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you wanted), Mafioso is not the one to greet you. He's just now getting up, blinking the grogginess out of his eyes and groaning in annoyance.

What meets the van outside the mansion is Sonny, Mafioso's soldier. And he looks piiiiiiiisssed.

"Who the fuck are you and what the fuck do you want?" He shouts at the van. "It's two in the FUCKING morning! If you want to talk to the boss, you make an ADMINS-DAMNED PHONECALL and you do it in ADVANCE!"

Demetrio is right behind Sonny, sighing at the Soldier's potty mouth.

Sorrow's sitting on top of of the van with the speaker set up. Completely unbothered and downing what can only he assumed to be the third damn energy drink in an hour. "Hey, not who I was shooting for but it works." A pause as they unplug the microphone and drop it onto the pavement.

"Anyways-" They pull out a pen and clipboard, click the pen and say, "Can I bug you with some questions? I'm working a case on a property you used to own and I kinda need the details if I'm gonna sort this one out. Lots of angry spirits in that bitch, honestly this one gig is gonna take like three weeks and probably keep me fed for just as long. But yeah, anyways, uh, details on..."

They skim the clipboard which is just filled to the brim with messy handwriting and subpar doodles, there's maybe one readable note on the whole thing and its a post it. "Ah, right. It's the old store that used to be a front operation, the one downtown, close to that place that also got outed for being a front operation. Ring any bells?"

They flipped over, laying on their back and chewing on the end of the pen. "Oh, and don't worry about how I got this info. You don't got a mole or nothing, ghosts just tend to talk alot."

...Sonny looks at them blankly.

"Hey." Demetrio barks, in a stern voice. "You watch your mouth. You're makin' a lotta assumptions here. This is the kinda talk for the boss only. And if you wanna speak with him, you ask in advance. He's a busy man with a busy schedule, and he needs his sleep. If we let every Idiota chiacchierone talk to the boss, he'd be gettin' more gray hairs from stress than he already is."

"So in case you didn't understand all that," Sonny cuts in with a cheerful voice. "BEAT IT, SCRUB." He drops the cheerfulness in favor of a rough shout.

Sonny turns on his heel, muttering angrily under his breath. Something about "Fucking assholes" and "Beauty sleep". Demetrio turns and watches him go before turning back to Sorrow.

He opens his mouth to say something else, but the doors of the mansion open and out walks Mafioso, hastily tying a black furred robe around himself. "Alright, alright, I'm here." He mutters, passing Sonny as the soldier walks back inside.

"Hey, Don." Demetrio greets.

"Hmgh." Mafioso squints up at the van. "So who're you, and what makes you think you can pull up to my driveway at 2 in the morning with a megaphone, eh? That's not a very polite thing to do, you understand. I was in the middle of a very pleasant dream."

"Listen either you tell me or this takes four weeks instead of three because I get the info from the ghosts lingering at your other cites. I am not easily deterred and it's a fact I'm quite proud of."

Sorrow flips over again, laying on their stomach atop the van. "Listen, I've got all night, I'm glad to wait."

Then the man of the hour shows up and Sorrow perks up immediately. "Hey! There ya' are. Been a while, I understand I look different, several trips to the spectral plane will do that to ya', uh, hang on I think I got a pre...whatever the fuck happened to me photo in here somewhere."

Sorrow promptly, slides down the front of the van, nearly falling flat on his face in the process. Then opening the van door and digging around in the glove box for a second before pulling something out. "Here we go, see the resemblance now big guy?"

They hold up the photo and low and behold...it's the debtor that vanished with half a million some time ago. They looked different then, no pale white skin, no black eyes or blue hair. Just your standard robloxian.

And he...literally just showed up here. To ask for info. No intent of explaining himself, or apologizing...

Sorrow held the photo up for a few more seconds before clocking the obvious tension in the air now. "...Okay, so yes to the bad blood still?"

As soon as the photo is unveiled, Mafioso's eyes harden. Oh yeah, that's a rare treat. Since he's just woken up, you get to see his face un-hidden by the shadow of his hat. Mafioso has trained himself to be unreadable, but there are still miniscule tells if you know what to look for. And a lot of those tells are in his eyes.

"'Bad Blood' is quite the cocky understatement." Mafioso says, lowly. He gets a better look at Sorrow, trying to decipher what happened to him to change him so drastically. "You have a lot of nerve, buddy."

Demetrio glances over at Mafioso, and Mafioso nods. Demetrio turns around and speed-walks back into the mansion.

"You understand how much you've hurt my family, eh? And then you go out and pull this, waking me up from my bed for... what, even? Just to be rude?"

Mafioso frowns. "You'd better have a damn good reason for waking me and my men up like this."

Sorrow sighs. "Hey, listen if you're gonna kill me at least save the suit. I've hit a rough patch and this is like the last good thing I own that isn't damaged." Wow, no remorse. How quaint.

Sorrow closes the van door and begins to walk around to the backside, opening up the back doors. "And I know there is not a grand enough explanation to waive off that much and even if I wanted to I'm not allowed to say jackshit."

Sorrow clears his throat. "And for the record, this was an ask for your help actually. Admittedly its a longshot but this case is one of my tougher ones and for as capable as I consider myself to be not every hit is a one-man-job." Sorrow hops into the back of the van and switches on the LED lights back there. The walls of the van are lined with cork boards. "I mean, look at this... I count seven spirits in there and like three of them are aggressive. But yeah, basically, you do this for me and I leave and make sure my next endeavor lets me barter with a demon for half a million or something."

Sorrow leans forward, legs dangling out of the cramped van. "Wouldn't be my first time trying that actually..."
