I like to think that post Dawn of Sorrow the Sorrow gang still end up in a bunch of miscellaneous supernatural hijinks. Eventually Soma and Mina invite Arikado to outings after he stops being quite so aloof and it becomes a regular event.

alucard-maria potential dynamics in the nocturne-verse my beloved........... i am once again thinking about them today!

i need them to have a unique understanding of each other that no-one else really gets, due to their shared experiences.......... i need maria corruption arc and alucard being someone playing the most key role in saving her.... but, she has to save herself as well. i want him to be thrown off by how much he connects with her, not just out of obligation but due to them genuinely both getting each other. i want to see them as equals when maria grows up, even if some part of their former dynamic will always still be with them..............

kind of tempted to add charlotte as a muse???? just a teritary one, but still....... i've considered making a game verse for maria as well, but i'm still trying to develop my headcanons for her first to make her more interesting to me.

One of the more unfortunate aspects of Arikado's work in the modern era is the newly-found need for secrecy. Centuries ago, things like Dracula and the magic wielded by the Church - as well as the forces that opposed it - were all rather well-known about by humanity as a whole. It would be hard not to be aware when they presented such a constant danger.

The world has always been a dangerous place, where tragedy and cruelty strike viciously and without warning. But nowadays... Arikado's found himself living in what could almost be described as a time of peace. The dangers that exist are just as threatening than ever, if not moreso, but they're fewer and far-between - and as a result, the church has adapted to the times, learning how to be subtle and hide it's influence when necessary. There's more to it all than just that, but... well, the reasons don't really matter. The point is that, while in some ways this secrecy has made his job easier, otherwise it can be rather troublesome instead.

"They're not going to hold back their curiosity for long." Arikado says to Soma, wearing a neutral expression that, as usual, gives very little away. It's not necessarily unfriendly, though. In fact, Arikado actually feels a little bad that Soma has to go to all this trouble. Normally, he'd just keep a distance from Soma's school life, but considering the murmurs he's been hearing - rumors of danger that could be just as real as they might be fiction - he doesn't know if it'll stay that way forever.

"Your teachers in particular, might be the bigger problem... I'm less concerned with whatever your classmates might think."
