Puella Magi Madoka Magia Side Story: Magia Record introduces the idea of Adjustment: a procedure performed by a Coordinator or Adjuster that can be done to ‘enhance’ a magical girl’s Soul Gem. This enhancement can come in the form of removing impurities or unlocking further magical potential. Adjustment is also necessary when a magical hero uses their Doppel to avoid succumbing to despair.
Adjustment, as it is portrayed in Puella Magi Madoka Magia Side Story: Magia Record, is not a replacement for professional and personal therapeutic practices or experienced Shadow Work. I would strongly advise any magical hero to have a strong foundation in grounding and shielding practices before engaging in any serious work. If you’d like, imagine that your therapist, social worker, or other professional therapeutic practitioner is your Coordinator—they are there to provide you as a magical hero an essential service.
Grounding, on the other hand, is something any magical hero can do and is a foundational technique for any practicing magician. To put it simply, grounding is a way of eliminating excess energy and tempering high emotions that you may have stored up during a ritual or a working.
If you have practiced centering as an energy technique, the fundamentals of grounding are simple: remember how you learned to manipulate energy when you learned to center? That's what you'll do to ground, only instead of drawing that energy inside you, you'll push it out—whether that is into the void, into an object, or to be carried off by the elements. Strong visualizations certainly help with grounding but also try something physical or tangible to strengthen its effects; try using your hands or your feet to push out that extra energy and feel it drain into the earth. You can also engage other senses in your grounding like by using cleansing herbs as an incense or spray, or by eating a comforting and antioxidant rich food like dark chocolate.
I often shield as well as part of my grounding practice. This helps protect my magical and physical body that may have become raw from high energy and emotions. Shielding is a way of protecting yourself from psychic, mental, or magical attack by creating an energy barrier around yourself that others cannot penetrate. When shielding, I do not completely close myself out from the world and others around me—I’m simply fortifying my defenses while I am recuperating.

so you've found what you think is a labyrinth? congratulations! now how do you enter it?
here's what i do!
get into a comfortable position and begin meditating. the goal is to find a state of calm and relaxation. any position works for this- i do it lying down as that's how i relax best. if you're outside, try sitting or leaning.
once you feel ready, focus on the energy you feel from the labyrinth, or however you located it. if you're having trouble getting anything out of it, try poking it with your magic to get it to react. eventually you should see the boundary sigil. this acts as the portal for entry!
once you have it, you can stop now and jot it down to explore remotely later, or you can continue onto the next portion: transforming.
from here, what i do is envision the boundary sigil as a glowing marker on the ground. i tap into my soul gem to project my astral body and then jump down into the portal. (i transform while falling, but you can do it at any time before or after entering! ideally before, so you're not in as much danger if you're attacked by a familiar.) i imagine this can also work if you envision the portal as a vertical entrance like a traditional doorway and simply walk through.
once you're in, it may take a moment for your psychic senses to adjust to your surroundings. this is normal- the energy of labyrinths is very disruptive and can be overwhelming.
from here you can leave at any time, explore the labyrinth, or go fight the witch!
i've also found that getting the sigil works while in moving vehicles. so if you can't stop but you sense a labyrinth, if you're quick enough to focus in on it you should be able to grab the sigil before you get out of range. (i do not recommend doing this if you're the driver though. stay safe!)

NOTE: This post aims to discuss Madokami through the lens of Pop Culture Paganism. The majority of what's put here are based from my experiences with her.
I. WHO IS MADOKAMI?
Madokami, otherwise known as the Law of the Cycles is a pop culture entity that originated from the Puella Magi Madoka Magica media. She was formerly human, until she made a wish that was able to prevent puella magis from witching out in the past, present, and future, and to take away their pain. That wish made to an incubator was the same thing that ascended her into divinity as the guardian of magical girls; it was also used to take down Walpurgisnacht in the show.
Her name as an entity came from the one she took upon as a human being, Madoka Kaname (鹿目まどか), and the Japanese word for a divine spirit, Kami (神). Bringing Madoka and the word Kami together was how the title-name "Madokami" was created. Her given name, Madoka (まどか) has no specific meaning but if it was written in kanji, it would mean "round" which represents the cyclical nature of magical girls. In other translations, she's also referred to as Ultimate Madoka or Goddess Madoka.
She is portrayed to have an infinite amount of hair strands, which in reality would be impossible to carry due to its infinite weight, but this is to depict the infinite grief and weight of responsibilities that she had taken upon herself. Meanwhile, Madokami was also shown to be capable of creating little 'extensions of herself', such as the form she uses whenever she flies off to save a puella magi. This form is humanoid and identical to the magical girl transformation outfit that she had before ascending.
As a concept, Madokami is meant to represent the idea of hope amid disaster and adversity, being the reason why puella magis no longer have to turn into self-destructive witches that spread negativity to others and on why Walpurgisnacht, who Homura Akemi couldn't defeat despite the timeloops, was defeated. For this, she was labelled as the hope of all magical girls, as it gave puella magis a chance to not end up into a monstrous demise.

VII. MY EXPERIENCES
I've known Madokami for almost a year. To me, she would appear in numerous but consistent ways. How she presents herself to others may be different to how she may show herself to you, so please do note that!
Personally, she appeared to me in these ways:
· A silhouette of a sparkling pink universe/galaxy, either with the shape of Ultimate Madoka or humanoid Madoka with pigtails. At times, she has yellow irises, but on other occasions, she remains as a silhouette with no facial features.
· Ultimate Madoka as her magical girl form. Whenever she interacts with me in the astral in this form, she has this soft and subtle glow on her skin. Her eye color may change from yellow to pink.
· Ultimate Madoka as her divinity form.
Whenever I hear her through clairaudience, her voice has an ethereal vibe to it. It sounds layered, dreamy, and fuzzy, with an echo. It sounded like her voice was a compilation of several other Madokas combined into one.
Her energy feels comforting and safe, as if I'm under a cozy, thick blanket, during a heavily stormy day. Another way that I'd express it is that being around her makes me feel calmer, softer. Whenever she's with me, it's like I'm being embraced and soothed by feathery wings. In addition to that, I can describe her as having a gentleness akin to a lullaby on the music box.
She helped me before in performing my duties as a magical girl and had given me boosts while I was in the astral. I think that she's trustworthy! If she's unavailable, then she sometimes sends in one of her assistants as the Law of the Cycles, which includes Sayaka Miki and Nagisa Momoe.

In the Magical community, concepts are everywhere. Namely, the PMMM concept. You'll find plenty of information on this concept, it won't take much searching to get help and advice. However, outside of this bubble, other concepts tend to have little to no information or guides on them. This is especially evident with Original concepts. Original Concepts have very little information or guides on how to make one, causing a lot of misinformation and confusion to spread among them. This posts purpose is to give a thorough explanation of Original Concepts and answer common questions.
"What is an Original Concept?"
An Original Concept, which I'll refer to as OGC from now on, is a magic system not stemming from any existing media. OGC's don't come in set forms, but the bottom line is that they aren't already from an established magickal system. For example, the Cycle Magi concept isn't an OGC as it's derived from PMMM. OGC's can be pre-existing, which means it was made/created before someone joined it, or an OGC can be entirely created from scratch by someone. If an OGC is pre-existing, that doesn't invalidate it from OGC's made from scratch. As I said earlier, if it isn't from an already existing piece of media then it counts as an OGC.
"How do OGC's work?"
A commonly asked question is how an OGC functions, and while a broad question, what most people mean to ask is how you're able to fight beings that aren't from any media's or where you'd get your magic from. In order to explain this question, we need to understand two things first: Manifestation and Entities.
"What is manifestation?"
Manifestation is the ability to bring your desires and goals into reality through various methods, often associated with the LOA (Law of Assumption.) It's the belief that you can use your mind and other forces to manipulate energy to fit your will and give you what you want.
"What are entities?"
Entity is a catch all term for non physical beings. Spirits, deities, demons, angels, all of them count as entities. It's a broad umbrella term. Kyubeys/Incubators, as an example, are entities as they're not physical beings.
Now that those two are explained, we can properly answer this question. OGC's are usually a mix of manifestation and entities. Some don't have any manifesting involved, and some don't have any entities involved, but to keep this simple, we'll assume OGC's all use a mix of both. When making an OGC, a good amount of manifestation plays into it. This could be through subliminals, praying, or other methods. It's not too different how others in different established concepts can manifest the powers they want.
When it comes to entities in an OGC, thats where most confusion comes in. A lot of people wonder how you can fight something that hasn't been previously documented, and it's a valid question. The main reason I explained entities earlier is because to answer this question, you have to understand the definition of entity. Entities are any non physical being, this includes things that haven't been documented before. These entities have existed in some capacity before said OGC came into effect. For example, demons exist in many cultures, and weren't documented in the Abrahamic Faiths until the bible was written, but they've always existed. That's how entities in OGC's work. The same applies for familiars. Not every familiar in existence has been documented, and if someone is manifesting a familiar for their concept, a familiar that fits what they want will come to them.
Note: When talking to Familiars or other entities, vetting is still necessary. Please always verify who you're talking to, OGC entities are not immune to trickster spirits.
Note 2: Contracts are not required for a concept. They have been popularized by the PMMM concept, but you don't need a contract in your concept.
"How are OGC's made?"
OGC's can be made in a variety of ways. For simplicity, we'll talk as if we're making one from scratch.
The most common method people use to make an OGC is to script. Scripting is writing down your desires as if they've already happened. OGC scripting is similar to reality shifting scripting, except it's for this reality. A lot of people start off by brainstorming ideas for what they want. They may think of a specific theme they have in mind, powers they want, if they want to fight or not, etcetera. A lot of people also think about what'd best fit them as a person. Most people's OGC's resonate with them deeply and are tied to their core identity. Not everyone scripts though, even if they're starting from scratch. Some people script very vaguely or very in depth. It changes person to person.
The next step for a lot of people is to begin manifesting it. The methods for this vary, one could use subliminals, the next person might use prayers, some might do different LOA methods, it all depends on what that person wants.
If an OGC wasn't made by the person who joined it and was made by an outside force, this'll look a lot different. For one, if an entity approaches you with a concept and after you've vetted it, it's recommended to take time and think on the offer, if it's really what you want. Since it wasn't made by you, less is in your control. It's hard to speak objectively in this scenario, it varies concept to concept, so for a lot of people figuring things out will be purely individual.
"What are open, semi closed, and closed concepts?"
This is the status of one's concept. It's basically saying if you can or can't join.
"What is an open concept?"
An open concept is a concept anyone can join, you don't need permission from the owner or outside forces.
"What is a semi closed concept?"
A semi closed concept means you need permission from the owner or outside forces of a concept, you cannot join on your own or whenever you want. For example, you may need to be initiated into a concept or be found by others in it.
"What is a closed concept?"
A closed concept is a concept that cannot be entered at all. Anyone outside of the concept isn't allowed in and won't be allowed in. This can be for a number of reasons.
If you're considering joining someone else's concept, you need to ask them about the status of their concept. It is very important you ask to prevent any drama or misunderstandings. It's important to respect the boundaries of someone's concept. If it's closed, don't join it. If it's semi closed and you were already denied, don't beg to join it. Even if it's open, don't be ridiculous or rude regarding the concept. A lot of OGC's are very personal and dear to the practitioners inside of them. Respecting their concept is common decency.

For irl puella magis
Cleansing your soul gem is really simple! First youll need a grief seed (obtained by defeating a witch) in the astral (or your preferred method) just get your grief seed and hold it up to your soul gem, and give it to your contractor once it’s FULLY used.
If you don’t give the used grief seed to ur contractor it could eventually hatch a witch. Some have multiple uses but if it starts glowing, pulsating or emitting a really bad energy GIVE IT TO UR CONTRACTOR IMMEDIATELY.

in short, a contract is a formal agreement between 2 conscious entities with terms and conditions! you know how when you download a new app and a page pops up like "hey! agree to our terms and conditions to use our app!"? its a bit like that! puella magi's commonly contract with kyubey, in exchange for basically selling our soul and changing our destiny to fight witches, we get a wish! its pretty much the same to how it is in the anime.
puella magis usually contract with either kyubey or madokami. when contracted with kyubey, its just the same as in the anime. when you contract under madokami, you are immune to witching out and instead of a soul gem, you get a wish gem! while you can't witch out when contracted under madokami, you can still have your soul gem darken which isn't fun at all, so be sure to cleanse it!
#02: WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE CONTRACTING?
first off, learn about normal witchcraft! while being a magical girl is a belief under pop culture witchcraft, pop culture witchcraft is STILL witchcraft! pop culture witchcraft is just as, if not even more dangerous than regular witchcraft, as you are contacting entities that could trick you into selling your soul to them! learn about the basics of witchcraft at the least, along with research on astral projection
next, i'd suggest you learn about communication with astral entities! learn about how to vet an entity to make sure you're actually speaking to the entity you think you are, learn different communication methods, etc!

wait a MINIMUM of a month before deciding you want to contract. most contractors do not allow you to take your contract back, which will leave you stuck with a descision you regret! understand the risks of contracting too! this is usually a permenant lifelong descision where you are selling your soul and leading you to a destiny of fighting witches and eventually witching out (if you are contracted under kyubey). witching out is inevitable for all puella magis contracted under kyubey! just like how every animal will all die at the end of their life, puella magis contracted under kyubey will eventully witch out. decide if this path is really for you or not
decide who you want to contract under! make sure to also learn your potential and if you have enough potential for your wish! this can be done by communicating to kyubey yourself, or asking someone in communication with him to ask him your potential. most people have a physical vessel for their soul gem, so i reccomend picking a physical vessel you'll use for your soul gem. mine is a hairclip, but it can be anything like necklaces, rings, etc. then, you can decide the fun parts! you can script what your outfit will look like, what you'll fight with, any abilities, etc! scripting isn't NECCESARY, but alot of people have fun doing it!
#04: HOW DO I CONTRACT?
this part is pretty easy! you either contract by astral projecting, lucid dreaming or by doing a physical ritual! first off, verify the entity youre talking to is who you think it is! after doing that, state your wish and BAM! you're a puella magi now!

hello! i saw your post on astral and aphantasia, would you recommend them a method ? especially for bilocation also who requires a lot of visualization..
Heyy! I don’t personally use methods. I bilocate a lot. What I usually do is lay down in a quiet place (or put on my headphones) and just try to relax. Then I think of where do I want to go? I usually start outside my house. Then I use my senses like what would I feel and smell? Then I kinda just know what I’m meant to be seeing even though i can’t really see it. I plan to make a more in depth post about this later on ^^

What is coordination/adjustment magic?
Coordination aka adjustment magic is the act of a puella magi using their magic to modify,enhance, and in some cases remove impurities of a soul gem. The practice was typically common among weaker magical girls who had trouble fighting witches so they became coordinators in exchange for grief seeds.
How do I learn coordination magic?
People who contract with madokami already gain coordination like abilities, but learning coordination is the same as manifesting any other magical abilities. start with observing soul gems and take time before you start actually doing the work. You are working on magical girls soul gems and that should be taken seriously.
What are some things coordinators can do?
They can adjust the your magic to make you more efficient, stronger (or weaker) in combat
Sometimes they can also sense your memories but that’s less common.
Theres more they can do these are just some examples

Today we will go over how to do magical combat in real life, using techniques outlined in the anime "Love Chunibyo and other Delusions".

This Strategy uses some elements that are similar to how we Bilocate into areas designated for magical combat, but we will cover that in a future post.
First, It's important to know most magical creatures and skilled combatants don't allow outsiders to view their magic. since ancient times, magic has been persecuted, and the spirits remember. so you have to learn how to get in the mindset to be able to view such combat.
In "Love Chunibyo, and Other Delusions", (for which which we will use the fan abbreviation "Chuu2" from now on,) Rikka Takanashi, the Eye of the Wicked Lord, triggers her ability to engage in magical combat with a trigger phrase, similar to a mantra. she says, "Reality rejected, synapses shattered, be banished from this world" (dub). this allows her to begin to see and engage with the magical world. Your eyes and mind must be focused on the Magical Reality beyond our own despite moving your body physically. sometimes, some spiritual entities bay only exist beyond normal sight. if you want to fight them, you have to be able to see them. It's often a good strategy to pick some phrase or action (like pulling out your magical weapon, or having your transformation sequence) to help trigger this mental shift.
Now, how will you know if it's worked?
you will be able to see the magic being cast, or spirits present. or in some cases with a weaker connection, it will look like vividly imagining it, but you can still also see actual reality too. this works just as well, as long as you're careful not to drop the connection.

For non-believers, the result is often an appearance of delusion. This is why we (us as a person, Rania) reclaim the term Chuunibyou.
From this state, you will be able to battle like you would in the astral with beings residing in the physical world. be careful, however, as your physical body can be at more risk in this state. some attacks can be sustained physically, especially when fighting other practitioners. it's good to spar like this with allies often to build your ability to connect well, and also to build resistance.
Often, it's important to call out attacks when sparring or battling. this may seem counter-intuitive, but there is a reason for it. Naming your attacks allows you and your battle partner to both envision everything correctively, allowing you to mutually build your connection to the world beyond ours. clarity is essential for keeping invested in the battle.

decide who you want to contract under! make sure to also learn your potential and if you have enough potential for your wish! this can be done by communicating to kyubey yourself, or asking someone in communication with him to ask him your potential. most people have a physical vessel for their soul gem, so i reccomend picking a physical vessel you'll use for your soul gem. mine is a hairclip, but it can be anything like necklaces, rings, etc. then, you can decide the fun parts! you can script what your outfit will look like, what you'll fight with, any abilities, etc! scripting isn't NECCESARY, but alot of people have fun doing it!
#04: HOW DO I CONTRACT?
this part is pretty easy! you either contract by astral projecting, lucid dreaming or by doing a physical ritual! first off, verify the entity youre talking to is who you think it is! after doing that, state your wish and BAM! you're a puella magi now!
