Funny, and here Izuku thought he wasn’t nearly as good a catch. Allowing his hand to fall from petting Pino before gripping at Rody’s wrist to pull him closer. “Hey, I mean it. You are beautiful. Inside and out.”

His other hand reaching up to gently pinch the brunet’s cheek. “And that’s coming from a guy who took an arrow for you, so that says a lot.”

      he knew that he started all of this, but had he known that this would get so real--maybe he would have thought better than doing this. however, when he felt the hand on his cheek, hearing what izuku had to say--and damn did he feel like melting right then and there.

      even if he didn’t, pino let out a heavenly sigh and almost fell out of the hero’s hair, catching herself by flapping her wings to correct herself so that she was once again settled into the teens hair.

           “i’m sure you’d take an arrow for just about anyone,” he gave a smirk, but leaned into izuku’s hand. “that’s just the kind of person you are.” and rody loved him for it, but he just couldn’t say those words--not yet.

“Wow, red looks a lot better on you.” Izuku couldn’t help, but tease his lips ghosting over Rody’s cheek. A look of surprise when Pino popped out resting on his head like it was her own personal nest. “Heh, well that’s true.”

Reaching up he gently pet her with his finger brushing it against her soft feathers. “Still, you did scream it. But it made me happy either way. You’re way more handsome then me though. In fact, even your quirk is beautiful! Really everything about you is amazing, Rody!”

           “shut it,” he looked away for a moment but he couldn’t lie with pino being there in front of them both as she too had a light dusting of pink on her cheeks as she enjoyed the pets she was getting from izuku.

            “i’ll scream it again if you tell anyone that i blushed around you--” an empty threat as he didn’t need any excuse to shout to the world how he felt about the hero. “i’m glad you’re happy though, even if you’re a little delusional.” he could never see himself as handsome, not with the way he looked and lived, he felt since he lived in poverty that he looked the part as well.

     with his clothes torn and tattered, and his hair always looking disheveled--he felt as though deku could definitely do better.

i wanna say over time, as rody grows older and matures more, pino won’t be summoned as much as he would more easily be able to talk about his feelings towards others. something he owes izuku. but he’ll still summon her from time to time because of how much he would miss her, after all, he’s had her at his side since he was 4 years old. so without her, he’d feel like something is missing.

      wait, hold on a moment, now RODY was the one who was blushing.

           “you know that i can’t really help that though,” and with that, pino showed up out of nowhere as she nestled on top of izuku’s head. “with this little one with me, it’s hard not to speak my mind.” she then turned to rody and stuck out her tongue from her beak.

“Stop it!” His poor heart couldn’t handle this as the boy shouted as loud as he could, and Izuku could somehow hear it over the loud pounding of his heart in his chest.

He pounced a bit to cover the other’s mouth slightly hugging from behind his face on fire, gently burying his face in the other’s shoulder. “Heh, you’re really sweet, Rody.”

A wide smile graced his lips chuckling softly.

      rody found this as a win in his book as he felt izuku’s head pressed into the crook of his shoulder and one hand covering his mouth, to which he pressed a soft kiss to the palm as he patted the other’s back at the same time.

“Huh?! Seriously?!” Yeah, hands are going up to cover his beet red face and ears. “S-someone’s going to hear you.” Yeah, trying to divert his embarrassment and shyness over it. But he usually never gets complimented like this!

           “oh? someone’s going to hear me?” he looked at the red on izuku’s face, and oh there was a grin the size of the entire world as he took in a gigantic breath in and yelled out.

           “DEKU IS THE MOST HANDSOME HERO THIS WORLD WILL EVER HAVE THE PLEASURE TO KNOW!” oh if it could be, that grin would be even wider in this moment.

As Izuku continued holding Rody, he saw the blush spreading over his friend’s face. It took him a moment to even process that he was holding his friend in such an intimate way.

“O-oh! Sorry!” he squeaked as his face began to glow red. He carefully deposited Rody back onto his feet before awkwardly rubbing the back of his head. “J-just thought catching you like that would be the most comfortable position for you…” 

     shit, he knew better than to show that much emotion at any given time, once he was put back down on the ground, he brought a hand to the back of his neck as he shrugged his shoulders. 

          “you don’t have to worry about it, i guess i just didn’t see that coming..” even though he was the one who bet izuku would catch him. to make matters worse, pino had come out of her little nest in his hair as she nuzzled right into the hero’s cheek, chirping up a storm. “p-pino please...” she knew what she was doing and rody hated it.
