UNDERTALE: SOUL of the Void

An adult Frisk and Chara act as fighters of an interdimensional menace of creatures called Voidners. With the help of their teacher, and their conjoined DETERMINATION, they seek to end this timeline-devouring menace once and for all. But little do they know that what awaits them in the Void is a darker force than any of them could ever anticipate... the SOUL of the Void awaits!

I’m working on a thing to give backstory to how Frisk and Chara ended up in the situation they’re in.

Chara

Age: 23

Gender/Identity: NB androgynous

Preference: Women

Abilities: Chara is a human with a soul of SPITE, giving them a strange different variation of DETERMINATION; they are capable of surviving deathblows through sheer spite of their attacker, remaining alive long after they reasonably should have died. They are able to summon a knife, a revolver, and a glove, all of which can channel the energy of their soul much like Frisk’s greatsword to strengthen their weapons. They are extremely durable due to high LV and can withstand attacks that would end a normal human instantly. This ends up being crucial as Voidners can get that strong if left unchecked.

Personality: While Chara is not as psychotic, selfish or callous as other Charas, they are still a bit of a dick. They tend to act in a rather flippant manner, being blunt with people and actively taunting enemies, even when they can’t understand them. Chara has a strong anti-human bias due to elements of their past they won’t clarify and suffers from some minor self-loathing that has been tempered over time. They prefer to operate directly and consider Frisk’s preference for stealth unwieldy.

Weaknesses: Chara is a bit of a hothead and tends to rush into situations headon instead of being intelligent and tactical about it like Frisk. They tend to bank on their SPITE to get them through, and this has gotten them killed numerous times, causing Frisk to RESET to prevent their death.

Frisk

Age: 21

Gender/Identity: Cisgender female

Preference: None; pansexual/romantic

Abilities: Frisk is a human with a soul of DETERMINATION, and all that entails. She is able to channel her soul energy through her greatsword to fire energy blasts from it, as well as strengthen its blows, and is physically strong enough to lift it with one hand. She is extremely durable due to high LV and can withstand attacks that would end a normal human instantly. This ends up being crucial as Voidners can get that strong if left unchecked.

Personality: Frisk is, unlike a lot of Frisks, not a pacifist. She is instead a fighter, willing to solve problems with violence, but not against talking things out. She is a bit of an atoner for past sins, and has made it a policy to never hurt a human or monster that isn’t being transformed into a Voidner. In general conversation she tends to speak calmly and in a friendly manner, trying to come off as approachable. She prefers to operate stealthily whenever possible and not draw any suspicion.

Weaknesses: Frisk isn’t as strong as Chara, nor does she have their killing intent; when it comes to Voidners she’s certainly willing to kill, but against ordinary monsters and humans she barely has it in her to even be mean, let alone fight. This may cost her in the future...

THE START OF SOMETHING NEW

From the creator of @godzillaadventureofficial comes a brand new tale; you could say it’s an UNDERtale? GEDDIT? Horrible puns aside, UNDERTALE: SOUL of the Void is an UNDERTALE AU centering around a grown-up Frisk and Chara duking it out with timeline-devouring abominations, while delving into their history, as well as learning the origins of the abominations, known as Voidners.

The first two posts will be characters bios for the two; after that, I’ll be taking questions about the AU, as well as answering questions aimed at the characters with art drawn to show their responses. Keep in mind that fully shaded art will be reserved for bios to keep me from overworking myself.
