to hell with that garbage about blood being thicker than water. she did not carry him, no. nor would she ever attempt to steal that title from the long - passed rightful owner of that. but when he calls her that ( some garbled, inventive form of it, that is ) her heart seizes up in her throat, and then her throat closes in on itself. without even realizing the smile on her face, she’s busying herself with blinking back tears. wouldn’t want him to get the wrong idea he’s upset her or something.
