WJSN (Cosmic Girls) - WJ PLEASE? RAR
As many of you may know by now, WJSN finally had their 1st music show win with Save Me, Save You! 😊 Sadly, the China line was unable to participate in this comeback because they have to fulfill their scheduled activities in China.
I honestly liked Save Me, Save You...the only thing I was unsatisfied with was the amount of lines Dawon got in the song.
Anyways here's the tracklist of this album:
Save Me, Save You is a great song for a title track. It has Cosmic Girls signature dreamy, cosmic sounds. Even the music video is beautiful and perfectly colored. Their last comeback, Dreams Come True introduced their whole Harry Potter like concept and Dreams Come True was a beautiful song and had a beautiful music video too. However, the coloring especially the saturation in the Dreams Come True music video was not pleasant to the eye. With Save Me, Save You it seems the saturation and coloring was reverted back to the usual Cosmic Girls brilliant effect filled music videos like Secret and I Wish. Save Me, Save You definitely contains elements that makes it a pop and dance track. It has a two part chorus that makes you think you figured out the structure of the song, but then it surprises you. The choreography accompanied by this song is beautiful and fitting, especially right before the chorus drops there is footwork that matched the beats before the chorus drops. In the chorus, when Dayoung is singing it is very evident that that there are harmonies in the background and it sounds nice. Finally, Exy gets two whole verses to rap! I definitely recommend this song, it is full of emotions and sounds very beautiful.
WJSN has performed a part of this song on music shows along with Save Me, Save You. I’ll be honest, this song is not they type of song I usually listen to. It’s very cute and at the same time it is not super duper cute lol. It is really hard for me to describe this song. It is a nice song. Would I listen to it everyday? Not really. Depending on my mood I may listen to this song. Yeonjung’s high notes are beautiful in this song!
This song is arguably one of my favorite songs in this album. Many people say the background music of this song sounds a lot like Infinite’s song Back. I checked Infinite’s song, and only the chorus of that song sounds similar to WJSN’s I-Yah. I think people are referring to the melody of both songs (at their choruses) being similar because they both use different instruments. What I like about I-Yah is that it is full of emotion and I love songs that are very expressive in terms of emotions. Soobin also gets a good amount of lines, she has a part of the chorus with Yeonjung and Seola. I also noticed that Yeonjung and Soobin’s voices sound great together. I would recommend this song to people who love listening to very emotion filled songs.
Masquerade has a very Disney ballroom song sound at the beginning, but it quickly changes the moment the girls start singing. It is a very nice song. I would listen to it when I’m in a very good mood. It is not a very fast song, but it is a cute song that is relaxing. It sounds magical which is a signature sound of WJSN songs.
Hurry Up has elements of Jazz and would be a great song to dance to. It is one of the two songs where the China line of WJSN was included. This song is very cute and silly at the same time.
You & I song is very fitting to be the last song in this album. This song is also the other song that the China line participated in singing. It is a song where WJSN thanks their fans and promise that they will always be together with their fans. It is a slow song that helps convey the message that WJSN wants to convey. It will make a WJSN feel cry and feel happy for continuing to support the girls in their musical journey.
This whole album was beautiful and it made me realize how much the girls have matured. I still remember watching their debut song. With the addition of Yeonjung to this group, the girls have found their signature sound. They truly live up to their names of being Cosmic Girls. I will continue to look forward to their future releases. I hope other kpop lovers start to stan these girls because you all are missing out!
