[ The scenery of the island is glaringly different than from what anyone had been used to. The sand was coarse beneath their feet and the sun was hotter than they had ever experienced back in England or France. The people were not any less foreign than the scenery, through Aurelia's eyes. ]
The words coming out of the others mouths were more often than not lost on her. Though she could understand the exclamations of worry and surprise, what came after was largely unintelligible. Something that was familiar at all might have been a welcome sight at that point. ]
[ There was something. It came from a man who had a head of wavy black hair and a set of blue eyes with the same sort of recognition in them that she held in hers, as they looked at one another. His appearance was similar to that described by the person who had given her the shirt that she wore around her shoulders.
That look dissipated for a moment as he took a closer look at her appearance. She looked quite out of place to be on an island such as this one. Most people were not able to retain their grace since the crash. To him, she had, despite the couple of bruises on her person. Her appearance, dress wise, would have been something unusual off of the shores as well. Johnny tried to ease his glare, then. ]
"Parlez-vous français? Je m'appelle Johnny."
[ He knew the answer to his question already, if he was not mistaken in what he had overheard. Her speaking, or rather, making an attempt to speak with another on the island who had approached her. Johnny did not really consider himself one to be too keen on making friends out of strangers. He would rather focus on those close to him, as minimal as that number was, especially at the moment. He appeared to have put that way of behaving aside though, feeling more than a bit of pity for someone stranded so literally and figuratively, who he could perhaps help with the language he preferred to use regardless. He tried to ignore the aching in his head that made him snappier than he usually was as he attempted to be cordial in speaking with her. ]
[ Aurelia's eyes light up with a glow as she recognizes the words said in her direction. She is used to people speaking slower to her, like she is dumb, in a language she couldn't understand at any speed. His words are like a shot of morphine, easing the pain. Before she opens her mouth, Johnny knows from her relief alone that she will reply in French. ]
"Oui. Je m'appelle Aurelia. On dirait que vous avez mal à la tête. Avez-vous pris un médicament pour votre douleur? Est-ce que seule votre tête vous fait mal ? L'avion s'est écrasé très violemment."
[ Aurelia does a once over of Johnny's entire body. She seems to be happy with what she assesses. Her nose scrunches up when she looks at his tie hanging low around his neck. Aurelia quickly grabs a hold of his tie, as if she is acting on her impulses without thinking about them for long enough to make her insecure. It would bother her if she didn't fix it now. Aurelia straightens the tie out, buttoning the top buttons of his shirt. ]
"Il fait très chaud ici. Je ne pense pas que vous garderez longtemps cette chemise et cette cravate. Vous pourriez utiliser la cravate pour panser une plaie si vous vous blessiez ; elle conviendrait bien pour exercer une pression."
[ Aurelia flattens her hands out over his chest, smoothing wrinkles out of the shirt. She steps back and looks at him again, her eyes widening. An unknown emotion flickers in her eyes as she wraps her arms around her body, like it will hide her from his gaze. ]
"It is £20 for an hour, and £70 for a night. I will dance, but you can not touch."
[ Judging by the thickness of her accent, it is the only English she knows. Aurelia has finally seen that he is a man. ]
