“It’s always nice to be able to experience an October without some grand horrible curse happening. Having Edwin’s morals that one October was horrible!”
“Between picking up after the Mafia, sabotaging the Mafia, making sure to collect and send information to Empress and making time for myself, I’m absolutely exhausted. I’d like just one vacation. Just one.”
"You've overstayed your welcome with that soul of yours, Moonjumper. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it belongs to none other than yours truly now."
“Only me? There’s a lot more ghosts in Subcon than just me - ooh, don’t I feel special~! I think I’d rather stay out here than down there. Much more fun in places that actually have a horizon to escape from.”
kxngofhell:
“I could probably touch both of them. She’s overdue for a sentence, as well.”
Oh, Lucifer had a very special place in store for Vanessa. Not that he didn’t adore the chaos she brought along, he lives for the messes mortals made, really proved his point that humanity didn’t deserve free will. Monsters like her are born from the lack of consequence. “Don’t keep the devil waiting” is a saying in bold with the masses in Subcon.
“Oh, you got a soft-spot for that ‘doll’? Fine. I’ll play you’re game. But you all owe me, and I’m not leaving until the debt is paid.”
Lucifer was remaining unbelievably calm, even though his patience was running thinner as time went on. He needed- no- he wanted, these souls. These tattered, broken things to add to his collection of torment on a shelf.
“And my opinion? The practice scares things like humans, you know. Anything that could put them in their place already earns a high regard. That is, until the soul’s overdue, especially the ones that belong to me.”
Another reason Vanessa earned a “Red Reservation”- as it’s termed in Hell. She brought back a soul, fine, it’ll go and cause a little mess and die from the inorganic properties, right? That’s where Lucifer stood corrected: Edwin should’ve been sent to his place of rest or torment a few decades ago. And whether he was good or not, Lucifer sought to take what he could scavenge, even if it meant creating a shallow contract just to get his hands on something so rare.
“Ooh, feel free to take her! Nobody in Subcon wants her there - all she does is freeze everything. Horrible to think of what might happen when she realizes she can leave her house anytime she wants.” Probably she’d freeze the rest of Subcon, and it’d turn into an icy wasteland.
Moonumper would have to find a new Subcon to call ‘his’, if that happened. And he’d have to move one of his void-home’s anchorpoints. So much work.
“Soft spot?!” His expression turned to one of offence. “Not in the slightest! I simply don’t want to know what happens if he dies again. We’ve already had that nearly happen once, and it was the worst experience we’ve both gone through since I cut him out!” Moonjumper was certain that if their shared soul was overly jostled, that little shit made of the the accidentally forgotten shards would pop out and cause mayhem. Or just go along with this man and whatever he suggested. That seemed more it’s style.
“I don’t care what you do as long as you’re not dragging me to an unwanted afterlife. If I wanted to pass on, I wouldn’t have stuck around for over a hundred-fifty years. I’ve got better things to do.” Like collecting shiny stones, curious magical objects, and the odd soul. Not too many though - he didn’t wanna be like her. “And all the puppet wants to do is run his little bakery, live in quiet peace. He’s just happy he gets a second chance to be alive.”
"You've overstayed your welcome with that soul of yours, Moonjumper. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it belongs to none other than yours truly now."

kxngofhell:
Oh, he very much so a threat. This man could tear a mortal souls apart with a snap of his fingers. He was King of Hell, after all. You had to be scary to curate a place as terrible as that. But his embers of eyes, piercing through the world coldly despite the enternal flame. Bright, huh? That’s what this creature thought?
He was one of God’s brightest creations, after all. Conceited, but absolutely brilliant.
“Edwin’s its name? Interesting. I thought he was whole.”
The demon would grin, an idea coming into his head. A negotiation, if you will. It was what he was best at. Contracts were an art he perfected. Every opportunity comes with a price.
“Oh, you could watch. I wouldn’t mind an audience to a new slaughter. Though, access comes with a price. And you refuse to pay it.”
The demon would taunt, refusing the creature his rights to watch the other piece of him suffer. He’d fix his cape, seemingly well-crafted silk and velvet with a button in the form of a Pentagram holding it together. It looked hand-made. Wonder who made it for him. Did he make it? Not the point. Point was, he was hoping his usual temptations would persuade the creature. He was too fascinated to let it go immediately, however. Just what was it? What was it’s history? How did the soul break apart? Just the being existing made him lose his train of thought.
“I’ve met a few that look at it that way.” Hand away from his face, with both arms back to being crossed in front of him. “That he was half, and now that it’s been so long, he’s his own little whole. Doesn’t change that we’re from the same source.” Watching, oh-so carefully. This man reminded him of the one other man he’d met - with a soul like a galaxy. It was a wildly different kind of bright, but bright nonetheless. This creature was wildly powerful, whatever he happened to be. Must be very careful, indeed...
“Oh I didn’t mean in hell, silly!” Not a chance. Moonjumper would sooner go back to Vanessa than let himself be taken to the afterlife - be if heaven, hell, or anywhere else. “I meant what you do when you meet him up here! I was keeping him in a doll until a certain Queen got a hold of him. Can’t touch him, now~ You probably could, if you’re anything like that Death fellow I met before, but I’d be interested to see your reaction all the same. He’ll put up more of a fight than I am. He actually remembers dying, you see~” Moonjumper didn’t quite land on the ground - hovering just above it as he spoke.
“By the by...” the spirit added, unable to hide a grin- “what’s your opinion on necromancy?” He hadn’t known the Queen knew such a thing until she’d gone and brought the puppet back to life. “As for slaughter - I’m not much fond of that idea. Besides - torturing him is a surefire way to turn that town into a firestorm of uncontrolled magic. I don’t recommend it.” Glaring, now. He’d better not harm the puppet.
Much more fun in places that actually have a horizon to escape from.”
kxngofhell:
He wasn’t particularly jumpy, but the nerve this guy had for messing with the laws of souls was seriously getting on his last nerve. Then to be this playful while there’s a serious issue layed in front of him? For out-living a human lifespan, he was acting like one of their children. To further get under the celestial’s skin, he doesn’t belong on this plane! And if the Angels above would snag what was left of the resource from his source, he will.
“It’s still a soul. I’ll take what I can get if it adds to my world.”
He’d scold, keeping his serious tone in place. Not that he didn’t appreciate the nerve this guy had to mess with him, but his interest in fixing “order”- which was already out of his field of work as it is, he loved chaos if it meant the souls involved suffered in the end(except this one isn’t, another point for irritation)- took over, along with the curiosity of the puppet fellow the blue crescent man brought up. Lucifer had a terrible history with puppets and puppeteers, don’t get him started.
“Who? Ugh, doesn’t matter. You’re both equally an issue and I’m here to fix it before those pompous birds make another mess.”
It doesn’t sound like he enjoyed or admired how the angels handled things, or rather, how they handled souls. He wasn’t much better than them, leaving them for an eternal suffering just because he thought that mortals, despite they good they’ve done, deserve to suffer as he has suffered. Ouch.
For all he was acting like a child, Moonjumper was watching very carefully. Sure, he didn’t feel terribly threatened by this man - at the moment - but he wasn’t stupid enough to think the man couldn’t actually be a threat. He’d learned his lesson with Ambrose.
“Half a soul, but I suppose that’s true anyway. Half a soul is still one half more than you had beforehand. Not that I’m keen on just letting you take me.”
The reaction to Moonjumper mentioning Edwin has the spirit’s expression turn to one of intrigue. Oh? Oh? Did this man not know? Now that was interesting~
“The puppet! Edwin! The other half of my soul. Can you not see, I wonder? I can. And you, sir, are very bright - Just because I’m not treating you like a threat doesn’t mean I can’t see that you clearly could be one once you get going.” Moonjumper said, covering his normal-patterned eye to stare at this new companion with the diamond one. “Bright bright bright - whatever you are, I’ve definitely never met one before... Edwin used to be a puppet, but-” He cut himself off. “Actually... I think I’ll let you find out on your own. Much more fun to watch you flounder on what to do. If you take the dead to hell, I absolutely must see what you do with somebody like him.” Bobbing and weaving in the air, Moonjumper was all but ready to leap back into the void, back to home, to safety.
If it came down to it, he’d have to. No way he’d go quietly to hell.
Much more fun in places that actually have a horizon to escape from.”
kxngofhell:
“You’re just the first on my list, young man. You don’t have a say in where you go. You can’t just choose to be here! You’re soul belongs in Hell with me.”
“I’ve had a say for the last one-hundred-fifty years, in where I go~! It’s easy, look-” And he teleports behind them, giggling - not with any bad intentions, of course, at least not at the moment. “You’d only get half of my soul if you took me down there anyway, and the puppet is a lot more complicated in regards to where it stands, lifewise.”
((Added Moonpuppet to the muses page, under a new section called ‘conditional’, because oh MAN is he absolutely VERY conditional.))
((...I just realized I really should give ‘Moonpuppet’ a muse page, despite being a VERY conditional muse. I’ll get to that when it isn’t almost midnight.))
“Has it really been that long? Goodness, I guess time even flies when you’re bored out of your mind, as well. Would it be bad if I said I almost miss when Moonjumper was constantly out to get me?”
((*gasps* I’m alive!
I’ve been distracted with Life. I still use this muse on discord believe it or not. This blogs dash is just... always really quiet.))
“I almost didn’t miss this place. All of the fun to bother people are gone, and I can’t find them! Hmph. Leave it to the Once-King to find some way to block me out forever.”
((I’ve been so distracted with Stuff that I forgot to check in on this blog. Apparently I’ve got some new followers? Reminds me that I need to start interacting with people. Maybe follow some more blogs.))
“It’s been so quiet for so long that I almost want to get into trouble just to get away from the silence.”
“One of these days I want to take a visit to Subcon, again. I’ve been feeling very... I don’t know. Antsy? Jittery? I definitely want to do something big, but I hardly know what that might be.”
A nug is a small, easy-to-eat piece of fried chicken, also called a chicken nugget, and a taco is basically an assortment of meats, cheeses, and greens--sometimes with dressings for more taste--held together by a hard and very thin piece of oddly shaped bread.
“Oh! Those sound tasty... They don’t sound healthy, but they do sound as though they taste really good~ Reminds me of when Vincent got me to eat a ton of burgers - they must be similar, then. At least in regards to health. I might have to try some out~”
Would you like more nugs? Or mayhaps. TACO?
“I have no idea what a nug is. And... Taco? I... I don’t know what that is either. If either of them are dangerous, I’ll say no thank you.”
