2019.12.7-2020.1.31 HIDEKI NAKAJIMA: MADE in JAPAN.TOKYO Berlin edition ツアーがドイツのベルリンへ巡回しました。中島の友人であるデザイナーJianping He氏のギャラリーです。 美しいギャラリーで、ゆったりとしたプランを彼自身がコーディネートしてくれました。かっこいいポスターもデザインしていただきました。ベルリン市街地の中に貼った様子は特に面白いです！

in the spring of 2019, ryuichi sakamoto placed a piano in his nyc backyard and left it exposed to the elements to observe how the piano would return to nature. the piano blended with the seasons for several years before relocating to an artist friend's garden in upstate ny. these photos show the piano's transformation and beauty as it returns to nature. Today marks a year since the passing of our dear Yukihiro Takahashi. His musicianship, friendliness, composing and producing prowess, and incredible voice will remain with us forever.

In celebration of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s 70th birthday, he started a series on his website called “10 favorites” which artist, directors, actors, writers who have worked with Ryuichi in the past came up with their 10 favorite pieces by him.

In the 5th installment, it was Yukihiro Takahashi’s turn. In it, he says nothing but praise and admiration for his long time friend, even calling him “Japan’s Treasure”.

I learned that Ryuichi was responsible for the music of “Flashback”, and telling him there’s no one more suited in playing synthesizers than him.

When I read his final comment, I wanted to cry. Yukihiro was why I picked up drumming. He played with so much charisma and passion. In every single concert he played in, he always had the biggest smile on his face.

I hope you’re at peace. Thanks for everything.
