WOW I JUST SAW THIS AND I HAVE 0 CLUE HOW OLD IT IS!!! Truthfully I haven't been very active in the fandom as of late, but that is something I'd like to change! It's been a busy past few months but if there's interest in a revival, then I'll happily do another!

Despite the connected world, some experiences remain region-locked. My British children, for example, have access to all the usual artificial flavours - their freeze pops are things like Strawberry, Cola, and whatever “Tropical” is - but they also have access to “blackcurrant,” which for historical biosecurity reasons, did not penetrate my American childhood.

There aren’t a lot of things in the world that are restricted like that, but that’s one: blackcurrant flavour.

The flip side (American flavours inaccessible, or too annoying to procure, in the UK) include:

Grape-flavoured things eg as a flavour of medicine, freeze pop, fruit snack, candy in a mixed set of candies or sweets - the equivalent (where not strawberry) is largely occupied by blackcurrant

Grape jam, as in PB&J (substituted with strawberry jam in our house; flavour combination considered upsetting to many British)

Blueberry Jam (can substitute bilberry if you know Nordic people, etc)

White cheddar powder flavour

Artificial pistachio as a flavour

“Birthday cake” as a flavour

Indeed, blue raspberry

Gatorade, weirdly

Butter pecan

I'm an American raised by Brits and I'd like to add a few more landlocked childhood delicacies

- S'mores (no graham crackers in the UK but digestive biscuits get the job done)

- Prawn mayo sandwich (I can never find the tiny shrimps and mayo here is weird)

- Heinz Salad Cream™

- The texture of a party ring biscuit (I miss them so bad)

- Melatonin gummies (how TF am I supposed to overcome jetlag)

- Clotted cream on a scone that your grandmother made fresh on a Sunday morning

- Sprite that doesn't taste Like That™

- Water that doesn't taste Like That™

These r my first brainstorm pages for the ot5 civillian miraculous designs! Some of their styles I imagine would shift throughout the hypothetical series, esp Adrien and Marinette.

Adrien dresses like a little businessman, preppy in the most direct sense of the word, was taught to dress well to leave a good impression. Gabriel believes that every man should just wear a suit all the time, so Adrien's sweaters and khakis are a compromise. He basically only wears neutrals.

Marinette dresses in mainly pink, but dabbles in other colors as well. I think she would always have some kind of comfortable fabric on, and customizes her clothing with embroidery and things like that. I think she also just likes all the rainbow colors too.

Chloe is a true y2k girlie, Megan Fox's character's outfits from confessions of a teenage drama queen is her vibe. Blue, yellow, brown/beige, b&w, are her main vibe.

Ngl I have no idea what to do with Nino he just dresses like a guy. I think he's the most comfortable in looser clothing. I try to incorporate green into his outfits to tie into the turtle miraculous and him being friends with Adrien. His in-show design literally has like every color in it probably to tie all the characters into each other but it kills me to draw that lol. I'm much better with designing women's clothes...

Alya has tumblr girl style. She loves a black graphic tee and takes black and white pictures of her converse. She basically dresses like the girls I thought were so cool in middle school. Like c'mon she has a blog and Balayage hair, what other style would she be? (Also random fact but when I heard of 'twee' style I thought it just meant all Tumblr girl style not just the peter pan collar stuff lol) I think people call it Tumblr grunge as well? idk

I have a different updated lineup of the civilian classmates and I might make individual posts describing their vibe, background, inspiration, and style because fashion is very important w my characters lol. xx

some headcanons for the Big Brother AU

Anthony was the first to find out about Marinette’s secret identity.

Tikki loves him. Absolutely adores him. 

Anthony almost always carries a bag of cookies on him when going out, just in case he runs into Marinette and she needs to recharge.

They don’t share a room, but they share bathroom. Marinette likes to blame her tardiness on Anthony’s tendency to lock the door while he showers so she can’t use the sink to get ready

Anthony finds out about Adrien being Chat Noir before Marinette does

Because of this, Anthony becomes the Ultimate Wingman

Marinette likes taking Anthony’s photography hobby to her advantage when building her fashion design portfolio

His favorite thing to take pictures of are plants

Anthony has grey eyes like Sabine, but his build is closer to Tom’s

Anthony and Marinette were always relatively close, but once he finds out about Ladybug, their relationship becomes even more solid

Anthony swears. A lot. And Marinette swears a lot when she’s with him.

Anthony has to get Marinette to kill the bug

Anthony is team Instinct and Marinette is Valor. There’s a billboard next to their house that’s a gym and it’s a constant battle of custody.

Anthony is the only one that can (sometimes) beat Marinette at video games. They’re pretty evenly matched.

He’ll carry her upstairs if she passes out on the couch after a late night akuma attack.

He is full of sass. All the time. It actually takes Marinette a little longer to develop romantic feelings for Chat than she otherwise would have because she sees her brother in him.

and then after Adrien and Marinette are by each other, he immediately begins to tease them

What is for the Brother au, Anthony gets to apprentice Adriens photographer (he needs experience photographer all sorts of things even people) and so the whole time he is talking up Marinette to adrien

What if when Anthony is talking up Marinette to Adrien the photographer over hears. Then the photographer decides he needs to meet this girl, and when Marinette shows up the guy places her next to Adrien and is like “they’d be cute” in his head (2)

What if after the photographer decides Adrien and Marinette would be cute together, he and Anthony spend the rest of his apprenticeship trying to get Adrien and Marinette to model together in attempt to get the two to date? (3)

YES EXACTLY and Adrien would probably barely even be conscious of his crush to begin with, he’d just be like “wow the dupain-cheng siblings are really cool and great and I admire them quite a lot for no reason in particular” and not think twice about it
