Hi, I'm Valerie.

This September, I'm finally having gender-affirming surgery, (aka gender confirmation surgery, aka sex reassignment surgery, final brit, etc) something I've been working toward for a long time. Given the current political climate around trans healthcare access, I want to move forward with this as soon as possible, while I still can.

The surgery itself isn't the hard part financially, the six weeks of recovery afterward is. I won't be able to work during that time, which means no income to cover rent, bills, food, and basic living expenses while I heal. I'll also need some post-surgery supplies to manage recovery, including things related to discharge and limited mobility in the weeks after.

I'm hoping to raise around $3,800 to get through this period without falling behind on the basics. Any amount helps whether it's a small contribution or a share to someone who might be able to give. <3

Hey I just wanted to thank everyone who shared and donated it was super helpful and I appreciate all of you.

I want to try to be as transparent as possible, I think so far I've got enough for recovery. I was given some larger donations by some people privately which added up to around $2500 on top of the $1576.67 I got from GoFundMe after fees adding up to around $4076.67. I should be able to survive on that.

Things won't be easy and I'm going to have to deal with the insurance company a bit and get my credit card debt settled after, I'll have to do a lot of double work but everyone has given me a fighting chance to be happy and to move towards being my real self and that was all I was looking for and I greatly appreciate that thank you so much!
