Moving to a new town in the middle of the semester isn’t fun for anyone. Especially when you’re moving to Lakewood, with its bad history of murders and the steady increasing amount of deaths, you’d be crazy to move to a town like that. But my mom doesn’t care, she got a better job offer at an elementary school and we could really use the money. I start school tomorrow which I’m not terribly nervous for, I’m more pissed off at the fact that I had to leave the town I grew up in and all my friends.

I’m walking down the unfamiliar hallways trying to find my class. I’m looking down at my schedule when I bump into someone and nearly fall, only for them to catch me. great.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry! I wasn’t watching where I was going an-”
“Hey, it’s okay! Totally fine.”
I nod my head and fully pick my head up to see he was walking with his friends. I notice one boy in particular, he is really tall and has dark hair. He notices me looking at him and takes the opportunity to introduce him self. He pushes the boy that I bumped into out of the way and takes my hand.
“Hello, I’m Jake. You must be new.”
“Aha, yeah. I’m Y/N”
“Y/N… well, welcome to Lakewood.”
“Thanks.” I smile lightly.
“Oh, and I’m Noah by the way, this is Brooke and this is Emma.” He said pointing to them. I smiled and wave.
I notice Brooke looking at me, unamused by the fact that this Jake guy still has my hand, so I let go and sigh, “Do you guys have any idea where Mr. Branson’s classroom is?”
“Yeah, we’re actually going there now.” Noah says. “Okay, awesome.” I reply. I smile at Noah and he smiles back. He was pretty cute. I guess I was staring a little too long because Jake took notice and rolled his eyes at me. rude.

“Alright guys, I’m gonna split you up into pairs for this assignment.” Branson announced.
I zoned out until I heard my name.
“Y/N and Audrey.”
Noah had introduced me to her when we got to class and she seems nice enough.
She turns in her seat which was conveniently in front of mine.
“Alright, so what are we gonna do for this project? I was thinking we could make a documentary about it, but if you have another idea that’s cool too.”
“A documentary sounds cool.”
“Alright, easy enough. We’ll have to get together after school to work on it, is that okay?”
“Yeah that should be fine.”
Since we are going to film after school we talk for the rest of class.
“So, what’s with that Jake kid?”
I point to him and Audrey looks.
“Jake Fitzgerald?! Oh god, please no. Go for anybody but him.”
“Why? What’s wrong with him?”
“Total dick. He thinks he’s so cool just because his daddy’s rich and he’s on the basketball team.”
“Oh wow.” I say disappointed. I look back at him and he smiles and waves at me. I only slightly smile and wave back.

After school was over I was walking to the gate when Jake grabbed my arm and stopped me. “Hey Y/N! How was your first day?” he smirked. swoon. stop. he’s bad news. “It was fine.” I said wanting to make this as short as possible but without being rude. I started walking again but he followed me. “Is something wrong?” “No, just tired.” “Oookay. Hey, do you wanna do something? I can show you my favorite places around town?” “Look Jake, as sweet as it is to offer that, Audrey told me about you. I know what you’re actually like and I’m not interested in a guy like that.”
“What did she say?” “That you’re a cocky jerk.” “Babe, look-” “No, stop. I’m not your babe. Okay? Please just leave me alone.” I say and he lets me walk.

The next day I’m walking around on campus when I run into Audrey. “Hey, Audrey!” “Hey, so I was going through the footage from last night I think that by tonight we’ll have enough to edit.” “Okay, awes-” “Y/N!” I turn to see who called me and saw Jake running to catch up. I sigh and he walks next to me. “Good morning!” “What are you doing Jake?” He looks over at Audrey and she takes that as her sign to leave. “I’ll see you later Y/N” “Okay bye” Once she walks off I look over at him. “Well, bab- sorry, Y/N.” he smirks. “I’ve decided that I’m gonna make you wanna go out with me.” “Really? How?” “By showing you the real me. Starting after school? Coffee?” “Um. Sure. Why not?” He smiles and looks over to Emma, Brooke and Noah. He nods in their direction and we go over and sit at the table. “Hey guys!” I say and everyone gives us a strange look. “…What’s going on guys?” Noah asks. “Nothing?” I say and smile. An awkward silence falls over the table, I stand up. “Well, this has been wonderfully awkward. I’ll see you later.” and walk to the library.

I’m walking out of school when I get a phone call from Audrey.
“Hey Y/N, you ready to film?”
“Raincheck?”
“Yeah sure, why?”
“I’m… hanging out with Jake.”
“Really?”
“…yeah. I figured that there’s nothing wrong with hanging out for a little bit.”
“Just… don’t get hurt.”
“I won’t.” I say and hang up.
“Hey,” Jake says coming next to me, “ready?”
“Yep.” and we walk to his truck. He drives us to the coffee shop and we sit and drink. “So where are we going after this?”
“Well I thought we could go back to my house, I’d seduce you, get in your pants and then never talk to you again.” He says with a straight face. “You’re joking right?” “No. That’s just the type of jerk I am.” He smirks and I laugh. “No really but I thought we’d get some take out and then sit down by the lake and talk for a while.”
“That sounds nice.” I smile and look down at my coffee.
“You’re so beautiful.” he says to me. “Is this part of your plan to get in my pants?” “Damn, you got me.” He joked.
