I look around and it's the same room, the same furniture, the same screen, the same game, the same everything. And she's laughing.

Things are like always but also different at the same time. The same feelings, the same surroundings, the same way of thinking, the same weather. She's still laughing.

Stop laughing

I don't know who she is, I don't know what's happening, I don't know what to think, I don't know what to do, I don't know what to say, I don't know how to react. But I know that sound, and I know it's not real, and I know I want it to stop.

Honestly, I haven’t watched or read Naruto in years but I was, for some unholy reason, thinking about that one episode where Sasuke’s about to kill Naruto before leaving the village to go with Orochimaru and then he had the AUDACITY to say “You’ve become my friend. My best friend” and I was like

It would have been easier to say it started slowly. A drizzle. A light rain. But it wasn't. It was a raging storm none could escape.

Everyone scrambled up, boarded up the windows, the doors, any and all opening that could have been a breach. Soon, all communications were made impossible and the world fell deathly silent, save for the pounding of the storm on the roofs and walls and pavement.

It kept on for days and weeks and it somehow kept getting worse and worse until, finally, the world found its voice again, little by little. The howling wind turned into a softer cry until it was reduced to a calm whisper. The leaves softly rustling. A ray of sunshine. The blue of the sky.

And just as the doors were opening once more, dark clouds. Thunder. Or maybe it was the doors being slammed shut again. And yet, the trees stand proud, and the houses remain, and the community survives.

There's a fucking achievement called "À On" (which basically means "Of we") that you get from defeating some lighthouse monster called a Serpenphare ("Lighthouse snake") because it's a reference to Asterix and Obelix mission Cleopatra in which someone goes "Oh yeah it's the phare à on" ("Lighthouse of we" which sounds like pharaon which means pharaoh)

AND YOU'RE TELLING ME THE GAME'S ORIGINAL LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH ????????
