this is gonna be controversial but. i don’t wanna see any of those “trans women gave you the right to get married” posts this pride month. Stonewall wasn’t a trans riot, it wasn’t a gay riot – it was both, it was all, it was more. trans women like Marsha P. Johnson were crucial to the Stonewall Uprising and the events that followed, but it would be remiss of us to act as though trans women were the only ones fighting – especially when those who push that narrative hardest on this site are not trans women themselves.
hundreds of people participated in the Stonewall Uprising. the Stonewall Inn was a mafia-owned bar of questionable repute that was a haven for those who couldn’t or wouldn’t join more exclusive gay social clubs – either because they couldn’t afford to, or would have been turned away. this included homeless youth, drag kings and queens, trans people of all walks, working class gay men and women – of all races and origins. the Uprising drew crowds of those who lived in Greenwich Village, including those who might not have frequented Stonewall itself. The Uprising was more than a reaction to a police raid of a mafia bar; it was a breaking point, a storm. Many of those who participated didn’t call it a riot; it wasn’t senseless violence and destruction as the term implied.
there’s a reason we point to the Stonewall Uprising as the start of the modern lgbt movement: because it was, for nearly all of those hundreds, the first time they could openly, proudly, fearlessly, and joyously link arms with their brothers and sisters and everyone in between and say, we aren’t going to go away. it was an Uprising. it was a Revolution.
and we would be remiss to diminish everyone involved for the sake of a performative allyship. even Marsha said that she didn’t start the Uprising: by the time she arrived, the action was in full swing. there was not a single moment, per se, that began the Uprising; the animosity and tension had begun building from the moment the lights went up on the dance floor as the police pulled up, but that tension spilled over at the call to action of a butch lesbian – by many accounts, including her own, Stormé DeLarverie – as she was manhandled into a paddywagon: “Why don’t you guys do something?” and the crowd, already 150 strong, replied, you’re right. why don’t we do something?
and do something they did.
Thank u discord

Okay maybe I'm grasping at nothing, but hear me out:
We all know Peter has spidey senses. He used them to defeat Mysterio in Far From Home.
But we see Peter struggling with them all throughout the movie:
(Peter not sensing the banana)
(Peter not sensing Nick Fury in the room)
(Peter not sensing everything around him in the pub was an illusion)
(Finally, Peter not being able to decide whether Happy is real or fake)
Now here we wonder, why is that happening?
Take into account the events of Infinity War. When Thanos snapped his fingers, unlike others, Peter could sense his death coming, that's why he fell into Tony's arms saying, “Mr Stark I don't feel so good”. Imagine such a terrible thing happening to you, feeling the pain everywhere yet not being able to fix it. This could and HAS led to post traumatic stress in Peter. PTSD leads to changes in the body and impotence is one of them. Also the added trauma of his mentor dying? Anyone's mind could've become fucked up after that.
“Okay, so where are you going with this?” you must be thinking.
Well, what if Peter sensed something was unnatural about the water monster (other than the fact it was a monster made up of water, of course) so he shot something at it, just because? But he turned out to be “wrong” because it went right through the drones. He was right about it, but he didn't know then.
Wrongly sensing something so big like that would have created some serious self doubt in Peter.
That's why he must have discarded every tingle in his skin that sensed the illusions around Mysterio in the pub. That's why he must have ignored the possibility of someone being in his and Ned's room. That's why he asked Happy if he was real when he got off the plane.
It's because he was doubting himself and the very abilities that made him Spiderman.
Peter wasn't dumb. He was right about shooting a web at the water monster.
"I brought you in this world-"
Ain’t nobody ask you to do all that tho
brace yourself
