Gross only blinks at the threat, not out of lack of concern, but confusion- they’re not exactly sure what they’ve done to demand that level of hostility. It could have been anything, though, seeing it wasn’t uncommon for their obliviousness to leave them blind to their own rudeness and behavior.

---♔ Nuummite stared at the other with a juice box in her mouth, not making a sound.

Grossularite doesn’t notice the other at first, too concerned with the bag of chips in their own hands. Digging out a handful of the snack and shoving it into their mouth in a rather unsavory fashion, they finally take note of the other gem. They chew slowly, making no effort to do anything other than enjoy their food and watch the other gem, waiting to see if they’d do anything. No noise is made, other than the occasional grunt in between gulps of food.

—♔ Jumping up, trying to grab the chip bag, a small whine was heard from the small gem’s lips. Obviously upset the other was not sharing, the black gem kept staring up at them, giving a sad look, hoping that they would at least share one chip.

The jumping only encourages Gross to lift the bag higher, stubborn in their selfish resolve to keep their snacks to themselves. The attempt at guilting them with a forlorn look has no effect on them- after all the other gem was still a stranger to them, and those chips were still theirs.

“Yer gonna have to get your own if ya want some, kid.”

Topaz stopped playing and saw the other Gem. “Oh uh yea.” he said as he put the Guitar down. “I’m Topaz..” he said as he extended his hand. “Who are you?” he asked as other humans around them passed looking awkwardly at the two unusual beings.

They reach out to meet the other’s handshake, grinning. It had been so long since seeing any gems outside of the two they had been around since arriving on the planet. 

“Good meetin’ ya- the name’s Grossularite, or Gross, whichever’s good to ya.” Despite the growing number of odd looks, Gross is still oblivious to the passerbys, too caught up in their own little world to care.

♔— A small, shy smile formed on the small gem’s pale lips. Wide, doe-like hues now remained unblinking as she continued to stare up at the other with only that smile. Finally, her small hand reached out to lightly tug on his chip bag, wanting some.

They grunt more forcefully this time, bits of chips falling from their mouth, lifting the bag up- junk food was a precious commodity to them, one they weren’t keen on sharing. At least, not with just anyone that waltzed up to them. Which did bring up the question of who this even was, and why they seemed so intent on staring them down.

who do you want to fight the MOST

“The most, huh?” They echo back, tapping at their chin. It wasn’t something they’d ever put much thought into- they were more about the challenge, as opposed to winning against someone in particular.

“Maybe another strong gem? Or something from another species! As long as they’re not as fragile as humans are...” They muse aloud, before giving a shrug.

Topaz had a guitar case on the ground open. He didn’t understand why some humans did it but he thought he might as well do it as well. He played his gutiar while humans walked by him.

It was easy to get lost in bustling crowds of people, especially in places like this- so it wasn’t a surprise when they were separated from Dolomite on one of their in town errand runs. Freaking out would do no good, and if they tried to run around searching for them, they’d just end up running circles around each other- so, the best thing to do would be stay put. And that’s exactly what they did, trying to move out of the way of crowds pushing by, finally coming to a side where no traffic seemed to be flowing. Absorbed in their own thoughts, it takes them a moment to catch wind of the melody coming just from their side, and the other person catches their attention just as fast as the music. 

“Oh! You’re a gem too, huh?” They ask- after all, other than Dolomite and Hematite, they hadn’t really seen others on this planet yet.

After plenty of procrastination, finally got around to making my gemsona!

They’re Grossularite (Gross for short) and their weapon is a tekko. They were a homeworld gem that fought in the war for the sake of fighting, but quickly grew bored postwar. Around that time one of poppetprincess‘s gems propositioned mine to help them steal a ship for the purpose of heading to earth (their gem idolizes/ romanticizes the crystal gems because of their own rebellious nature) and ends up stuck there with them.

They’re pretty neutral about humans, mostly disappointed because they can’t fight them (there’s no challenge in it, so it mostly just makes them sad).
