Under the cut is a stupidly long post of about 2 years of my collecting story events, main stories and various special bits, all written up in Google Docs and now open to your wonderful eyeballs. Some notes are also there if you care, if not just click some links and enjoy, send this to someone who might find it useful and/or check out my fanfics (sparkletwink on AO3) if you want to support the ridiculous amount of effort I put into it. Thank you.
Mid-way through my SLBP play I’d started writing a load of fanfic for it and wanted references, so started this collection with the vague intention of eventually sharing it with anyone who might have missed old story events, or for having to enjoy when the servers eventually go down. I don’t write up everyone any more, because it takes a LONG time, so I’m sorry if any of your faves are missing.
If you have any epilogues that you’d like to donate free free to send me a link and I’ll tack them on when I have time. An asterisk in the title of the Doc means I have the epilogue but haven’t written it up yet.
[Ep] refers to a story event including its epilogue, [POV Ep] includes an epilogue from the lord/ninja’s point of view. My MC is called Arekkusu Yuri. I adjust the spellings to British English for my own sanity (sorry ‘Murica) and fix any obvious errors in the writing, but leave any indecipherable nonsense from confusing translation. However, if you notice any mistakes other than that, just leave a comment in Docs to let me know.
(Note: I won’t be giving trigger warnings for questionable behaviour from the characters because I just don’t have the brainpower to check every single story for potential triggers. If you’re in the fandom you probably already know the writing can get dark, e.g. abusive/controlling relationships, death of loved ones, lack of informed consent, unchecked mental illness. Go into anything you read carefully and don’t hurt yourself for the sake of a dumb story.)

Hey!! Thanks so much, I've totally fallen out of doing this because of my life being in absolute shambles but I can answer your question for sure. Pinterest is the way to go for the SLBP CGs, 100%. There are a few big names who collect, if not all of the art. I try to but I'm not particularly up to date on it. My username there is lexysharps if you want to go have a look.

God, I'm so sorry, I completely fell off of doing this because my life fell to pieces but I'm so pleased it made someone happy. I can't confirm but there's quite a few of the stories recorded by some die-hard fans on YouTube, you might get lucky.

may I enquire, if I were to seek the ancient lore of our handsome man, what anime/manga/misc should a new entrant to the universe seek out? I've blasted through the story of Star Rail since discovering it and now I'm itching for more. I read Alien Space and didn't understand a lot without context, tried to make sense of it with the wikis and... did... somewhat, so now I'm feeling like I should ask an expert what the correct order is. xD
i mean, just play honkai impact, all else follows. there’s this guide for reading the comics and other peripheral media in the right order but i kinda disagree with that some points (asking someone who isn’t yet invested in the plot to read the vns is insane considering you have to be a hardcore lore nerd to have read them, same when it comes to chronicles, i would skip both of these things—the first because it’s something most players will never play anyway, and the second because it’s… really not important to the lore at all. mind you you do have to play the ae vn to fully understand welt’s lore, but that’s something better done afterwards imo. it’s set like 60 years before the start of the story anyway)
imo the only thing i would definitely recommend is reading second eruption after chapter 6 of the main story, or thereabouts. also you need to play a post-honkai odyssey for alien space to make any sense. otherwise you can kind of just read them when you feel like it imo. i’m a big fan of being confused by media though so my opinion is probably not that useful
since the gameplay and story are pretty disconnected and it pretty much takes the form of a visual novel with occasional fight sequences it’s entirely possible to get the full experience without actually playing the game imo, i’ve directed people to this yt playlist before. the only caveats there are
i’m not sure it includes the animated shorts that are tied to the end of major story arcs, and arguably one of the best things about honkai, so you would have to reference the guide from earlier to know when to watch them (they’re on a playlist on the official yt account) and
that playlist is kind of just a dump of all content, including events and other non-canon stuff, so what you want to do is watch everything that starts with “chapter” in order (including elysian realm), and then watching both parts of a post-honkai odyssey at the end
i recommend just playing the game but some people ARE WEAK get turned off by it being very different from newer mihoyo games so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
if all you want is welt content though i once wrote a google doc to allow a friend to read second eruption (his first and most major appearance, and also imo a strong contender the best thing that’s ever come out of mihoyo) without having played the game so that’s definitely possible and i think i still have the doc somewhere
it should be kept in mind that currently, apart from welt’s existence and a few references, hi3 and hsr aren’t terribly intertwined story-wise currently. which is to say playing hi3 won’t really add to your knowledge of hsr lore. but if you don’t experience hi3 you’re sorely missing out anyway imo (if only on one of the most subtly deranged mobile gaming experiences you can have)

Everything's going well and Saizo is on his way back to Yukimura. But when does anything ever go to plan?
Blood sprays the ground beneath my feet, the thud of another body hitting the forest floor the drumbeat to my horrible symphony.
The tingle at the back of my neck, the sing of blades through air, the gurgle of wounds spilling their precious lifeblood to the dirt.
This was my soundtrack as I ran back toward the battlefield.
Jinpachi and Sasuke had already disappeared on their own way; our work was done, the battle was in its final throes.
The castle looms before me, and with the leader of the ambush that targeted the Sanada's main forces just another stain on my blade, the pincer of Sanada and Takeda both had nothing left to stop it.
I emerge from the cover of the trees, slashing open another throat before its owner even realises I'm beside him.
And my navigation was perfect. Just a little way ahead, there was a flash of red atop a rearing mare.
"We have them…!! Fight to your last!”
Yukimura rallies his men with a fierce shout, his great spear in the air for a moment before it is once again brought down upon the next fool to challenge him in the height of his bloodlust.
"Sanada! I'll have your hea-aah!!”
"Hah! You'll have to do better than that if you want it!” His enemy falls to the ground, crushed beneath the hooves of his mare as he powers on.
I pick through the enemy behind him, finishing fight after fight with men too caught up in their own battles to notice my presence.
Praise falls on my ears from grateful retainers, exhaustion clear in their voices, but I am only here for one man, and as I fight my way back to his side, he finally turns to see me amongst the carnage.
"Saizo…!" Yukimura's face lights up, the blood splattering it an uncanny contrast to his sunny grin.
I look up at him, my eyes narrowing for a fraction of a second in answer to the warmth his smile puts in my chest.
Though barely a beat in my dark symphony passes, time seems to still as I feel unease itch in the back of my mind and see Yukimura's eyes flick behind me, widening minutely.
I've turned before I've even considered the source of my discomfort, grip tightening on my blade and my muscles tensing for a movement they never get to make.
The flare of red I chased down to get here flashes across my vision, Yukimura's body flying from his horse to jump in front of me the last thing I see before the unmistakable whistle of an arrow stops suddenly and my oldest companion collapses to the ground, rolling a few times before he stops in a plume of dust, curled up on his side and clutching his chest.
Everything disappears around me. The battlefield falls away from my consciousness as I dive forward, already ripping the fabric from my belt to stop the blood seeping through his fingers.
"Yukimura."
"Nngh… Are you… hurt… Saizo…?” he manages to mumble on ragged breaths.
"Shh…" Rolling him onto his back, I take hold of the arrow lodged just beneath his ribs, pressing my fingers to his lips until I feel him take the pill I offer onto his tongue. "Hold onto me."
He swallows, whimpering quietly before he breathes out and grips my free arm. "Saizo…"
I give him an extra moment for the analgesic to kick in, though my pulse is racing and adrenaline begging me to rush through my treatment. "Why did you do that, little lord?" I murmur to him, watching his breathing start to steady. "I'm here to protect you, you know."
"I know…" he whispers. "But-aaghh!!"
I use his distraction to yank the arrow out, more careful than I've ever been of anything not to twist.
His lungs are still strong. No puncture. Thank the gods.
Tears come to his eyes before I even toss the cursed arrow away, his palms twitching to cling to the wound again even as I wrap it, so tightly I'm sure I hear his ribs creak.
"Saizo… nnngh… Saizo, it hurts…"
"You're just a little dumb aren't you." I whisper to him as I run a hand under his back.
He's heavy, but I barely feel it as I lift him over my shoulders and sprint off to safety.
Deep into the forest, my horse running behind us, I stop and lay Yukimura down into soft grass, pulling out all the medical supplies I carry with me. Even if I don't have the tools to check for splinters in the wound, I can stop the bleeding, prevent infection, and get him back to camp.
"Saizo…" Yukimura's voice is weak when he calls for me. "I'm sorry… I…"
I cast him a quick glance, my eyes hovering on his for a split second when I see the sorrow in his gaze as he watches me.
"I… I just didn't want… I couldn't… risk losing you…"
His fingers reach for mine where they work over salves and antiseptic oils.
"Quiet time now, Yukimura," I murmur, placating him with a gentle brush of my fingers over his hand before I reach for cloth keeping his blood in.
"Nnnhh… sss…" Squeezing his eyes shut, he tries not to arch up into my hands as I sting his skin with my concoctions. "Haa…"
Blood oozes from the wound with each beat of his heart, the cloth I tear from our robes soaked through all too quickly. The salve to staunch blood flow is being pushed from his body faster than I can apply it.
"Nnngh…"
"Shit," I mutter to myself, my gaze flicking up to his increasingly pale features. Panic unsteadies my hands as I watch his life slip away. There must be something else I could do.
Yukimura sighs quietly, his breath slow and shallow. Tilting his head, he looks up at me, giving me a small smile through half-open eyes. "Saizo…" he whispers my name, reaching up weakly with one hand and catching his fingers in my collar. "It's okay."
Pressing my palm against the wound I lean down with his quiet urging, my brows low and my jaw tight.
"If I die, I'm… I'm glad I… saved you…"
My frown deepens, the ache in my chest feeling as deep as the one beneath my hand.
"That's not how it works, little lord. You don't die before me." Though I don't raise my voice much beyond a whisper, even I hear it crack.
Yukimura's eyes narrow with his smile, the faintest of flushes warming his icy white cheeks. "Sorry… I could never say… before…"
His fingers creep up my neck, muscles straining with the effort before he cups the back of my head and pulls me down toward him.
"I always… loved you, Saizo…"
Gently, he brings our lips together, kissing me so softly I can barely feel how cold his skin is.
My stomach knots, agony rippling up to my heart as I feel him drift from consciousness.
"Yukimura…"
Teeth clenched against the pain in my chest, I stare at his features for a few more seconds before letting my gaze drift down his body to the ripped up bandages lying beside my hand.
My eyes widen minutely. That's it.
As fast as my hands can work, I coat a strip of cloth in salve and twist it into a point, pushing it into Yukimura's wound, deeper and deeper until just a tiny bloodstained flag emerges from his skin.
Barely another minute passes before the blood oozing from his wound slows and I heave a sigh, letting my head fall onto Yukimura's chest and clinging to him tightly.
"You damned fool," I whisper against his blood-wet kimono while the thud of my heart in my ears finally starts to slow, the crescendo of my panic fading to its dull, steady rhythm. "You gods damned idiot."

If anyone wants me to explain why I ship this I will do so to them at length; I wrote a 45k fic about them getting together and never finished it because I’m the worst but dammit my feelings are valid.

My imagination doesn’t work so I mostly piece together parts of pre-existing art to make boys kiss, sue me (please don’t I’m poor), but I hope you like it. Special credit in this case to the original SLBP artists who I’d love to name but Voltage refuse to acknowledge them (at least in the English version) apparently.
