ARASHI’s Aiba Masaki (34) is taking leading role in Fujitv “Getsuku” “Kizoku Tantei” (Monday 21:00), it is going to broadcast EP9 on 12 June which is a must-see for the fans of original work and the mystery fans. This episode is about a story in the original work “Komori” which is widely recognised as a piece which “visualisation is impossible”. The original author Maya Yutaka-shi (48) also expects this episode “How the staff will work out their preference, and make the TV version of ‘Kizoku Tantei’ a great course to be put on table, I look forward to it now”.
Starting from April 1987, the Getsuku has produced numerous famous and hit works. “Kizoku Tantei” is the 30th anniversary work of Getsuku. The original work is “Kizoku Tantei” and “Kizoku Tantei vs Onna Tantei” (Shuei Sha bunko) written by talented author・Maya-shi, who was doubled-awarded in Mystery Writers of Japan Award and Honkaku Mystery Award in 2011, and continued to write works which break the convention of mystery novel such as Sekigan no shojo published in 2011. “Kizoku Tantei vs Onna Tantei” was the No.1 in Honkaku Mystery・Best 10. The novel illustrates the stories of extraordinary tantei (Aiba) who leaves the deduction to servants, and himself enjoying conversation and interested in acquaintance with ladies related to the mysteries.
This miraculous trick “Komori” which is said to be impossible to be visualised is a story in Chapter 3 of the original work “Kizoku Tantei”. Noriko* and Emi who are students of female university, as early graduation trip in November, visited an established hotel in Hokuriku who has distinguished in its over 300 years of history. The guests staying there together with them are popular novelist・Osugi Michio and wife・Machiko, Machiko’s sister・Mizuhashi Sachiko and husband・Yoichi, and novelist Dojima Naoki who has close relationship with the two families… and the story between them developed.
This episode in TV drama is changed to camp field for enjoying barbecue. Female university students Noriko and Emi in the original novel are replaced by newcomer tantei・Takatoku Aika (Takei Emi) and assistant inspector・Hanagata Raiu (Namase Katsuhisa). As for other characters, popular novelist Osugi Michio (Koichi Mantaro) and his wife Machiko who originally was actress (Takaoka Saki), Machiko’s sister Sachiko was jazz singer (Tanaka Chie) and her husband Mizuhashi Yoichi was salaryman (Yamanaka Takashi), the person having close relationship with these two families Dojima Naoki was musician, the characters’ occupations were added or changed. After barbecue, Osugi alone went to café. There we saw Aika and Hanagata. The site where Aika’s master, famous tantei・Kitami Kiriko (Igawa Haruka) was dead was near. And then a murder happened――.
Maya-shi expressed his full trust towards visualisation of this episode and gave his approval, “While it is thankful that ‘Komori’ has such high praise, the story uses difficult trick which his difficult to be visualised, without this trick the work will become dull. Speaking so, because the episodes thus far constructed a gorgeous Kizoku world and added new charm to the mysteries with skillful arrangement which made them enjoyable, I have no worry at all”. He expects the work “For ‘Komori’ as well, how the staff will work out their preference, and make the TV version of ‘Kizoku Tantei’ a great course to be put on table, I look forward to it now”.
Before the broadcast, Maya-shi had a dialogue with Aiba-san which was published in the May issue of Monthly novel magazine “Syosetsu Subaru” (Shueisha).
Maya-shi praised highly about Aiba-san “During the dialogue I heard from him things such as the determination of creating character, when I watched the episode, the type of character was different from the original work, I was surprised that he was into a magnificent role. In terms of composition of story it couldn’t be helped that Kizoku Tantei has some quality that may be unpleasant to others, I felt that such quality was neutralised by the innocent naughtiness (Aiba-san acted). Still the elegance and acuteness was not lost. While it is difficult to be put on words, I in some day want to write such type of hero. How the final episodes will be like, I haven’t had any idea too, I hope that Aiba-san would remain his acting as it has been, a mischievous Kizoku Tantei whom though you may not like but you also will not hate”. Please pay attention to the last episodes which is approaching the mystery of Kizoku Tantei.
