Panoramic views of the site at night
These are photos of a few unique events that happened on the site. After the rain, the uneven surface of the concrete formed puddles that reflects skyscrapers or clouds which i find really beautiful. Another event was also the smoke coming out of the vents from a restaurant called 'brutale'. These smoked come out after 5.30pm where they are preparing to open for business.
After days and days of analysing the site, i have decided to choose the location infront of the 'Ants Bistro' sign as it has a lot of natural light during the day and artificial light at night (the lamp post above, the Ants bistro small sign on the right (first picture).
Besides that, there are also a lot of people moving about in that lane which is perfect for my concept of people walking past by at night to see the patterned shadows on them and experience what it feels like to walk through such a phenomenon.

paraSITE: Interior Inspiration - Foldable furniture
for my paraSITE project, I have decided to design a space that allows natural light at day time to create patterned shadows within the interior of the space through my paraSITE's fascade while allowing artificial light at night to create patterned shadow within the exterior of the space.
To do this, i wanted to design an interior that is very minimal, and most importantly, doesn't get in the way of the light working its magic at night and day.
Then i remembered, Foldable furnitures. they're space saving, practical and easy to use. I started to research some foldable furnitures and here are some photos that I found interesting and informing my project:

Inspiration of the day: De Stijl
For History Theory, I've been reading about De Stijl and I instantly was hooked when I realized it was talking about this idea of purity and simplicity. I was very interested in how this movement had started and how it came to be that i chose to write it for my essay.
As i learned deeper about what it is, I found it very interesting that the idea of purity comes from the concept that to create something pure, one must reduce forms and colors (which is why De Stijl is very known for its use of lines and colors red, blue and yellow color alongside black, grey and white).
Another concept was its love of wide, open spaces. They used screens (like japanese screen doors - the shojis) to create partitions but they are not permanent so that whoever lives in that room could fold it away when privacy is no longer needed.
I think De Stijl is definitely a movement everyone should try reading and finding information about. Despite it being a short movement, lasting for a few years, it has a lot of interesting things and ideas going on.

paraSITE - Site analysis: Light and shadow
On this site analysis, i focused on which part of Corrs lane has the strongest sunlight as my practitioner uses light in most of his works.
After a few days of analysing at different times of the day, i decided to choose the part of the site where the billboard 'ants bistro' is as it has strong sunlight and a lamp (which i can maybe use for my parasite). the location also doesn't get disrupted if i place something there which is perfect as my practitioner is also known for creating designs that blends well with the environment and not getting in the way of others.
