Kuzan is based on Japanese actor Yusaku Matsuda. He looks exactly like Matsuda, facial structure, curly hair, everything.

Yasopp and Usopp, yes, they're meant to be black. Usopp would be African if he were real and they were cast with black actors in Live-Action. Blackbeard is also meant to be black, he would from Somalia if he was real. There are many characters in One Piece who are intentionally and clearly coded as black, and I agree that the anime continuing to color their skin tone lighter is racist.

But Kuzan isn't black. He's just based on a Japanese actor who coincidentally happened to have black features.

Yes I know he’s based off a Japanese actor, all of the admirals are. That doesn’t mean he can’t be mixed just because his inspiration is Japanese. I mean, people draw Sengoku, whose clearly a Japanese man as Black, why can’t Kuzan be?
