BILLY LOOKS OVER AT TOMMY from his bed across the room, expecting these random questions after all these years. Especially since they were pretty much living together, but he doesn’t mind answering them. “I wasn’t worried about it, but now I’m sure thinking about it.” He closes the book in his hands. He frowns as he wonders just how much he could end up missing as he gets older. “I’ve been doing alright so far haven’t I?”

   tommy sits up suddenly; the conversation’s making him jittery.  he finds himself pacing from the door to his bed as he tries to think of what to say.  how to word his doubts.  ‘ nah, you’ve been doing so good.  i don’t mean that you’re not doing awesome.  i just...i worry. ’  maybe selfishly, what tommy’s really struggling to articulate is that he’s terrified that he’s going to miss out on a normal life.  that his delinquent record, lack of education, and general disposition are going to keep him from doing anything outside of speed.

   reclined on his bed, hands behind his head, tommy looks like the very picture of relaxed, but the way his foot bounces gives him away.  his mind, as per usual, is going a thousand miles an hour.  “ b, do you ever think, maybe, like -- being a superhero might stall your life ?? ” tommy asks.  “ i mean, not me.  but you’ve got like -- big bright stuff ahead of you outside of being wiccan.  do you worry you’ll miss em ?? ”

Teddy knocked on the door frame before peeking inside the room. A relief sigh escaped his lips when he saw Tommy  — he had been right.  He walked inside and shrugged his shoulders, smiling. “They were talking about an annoying speedster in the kitchen. I figured it was you. Are you okay?”

    “ okay, i’m not that annoying !! ” tommy insists, rolling his eyes.  “ but, you know, haters always gotta talk about something, right ??  i’m great, buddy.  what about you ?? ”

    [ bisexual finger guns ]  this is kind of a starter/plotting call.  if you just want a starter at random, hit the little heart.  but below the ‘read more’ is a short list of some plots/threads i’d love to explore with my kiddo here.  if any of those interest you, shoot me an im.

1.  i’m dying to explore tommy’s relationship with mutants & mutant issues.  traditionally, he’s more associated with the avengers, but i think there’s a lot of interesting feelings to be explored re: tommy’s possible association with mutants.  so like...i guess the general idea here is a like thread/plot with another mutant that lets tommy explore the weight of his heritage beyond the m-day related issues he found out about in children’s crusade.

2. action !!  gimme superheroes ( especially fellow young superheroes ) kicking ass together.  developing the kind of trust it takes to implicitly have someone’s back in battle ??  gimme all that shit.

3. positive relationships with older adult figures !!  tommy’s not a kid anymore, per se, but he still really craves meaningful & positive interactions with adult figures.  he desperately wants to connect with adults because he had so many disappointments with his parents.  even in his own world, tommy was hesitant to connect with wanda because he was afraid it wouldn’t matter.  give me long-lasting paternal/mentor relationships for tommy, pls dear god.

4. god.....something angsty w/ tommy having issues because being in 1973 and all out of sorts definitely reminds tommy of the last time he was stuck between time and space.  i’d love an opportunity to explore the less-exuberant sides of tommy with other characters.

5.  something else action-y but more long term and fighting against the Friends of Humanity group.  i’d love to really plot out something intricate for that, come up w/ arcs for more than one chara etc.  so just lmk if you wanna try to work something out w/ me.

   it’s not too hard to get a laugh out of tommy, usually.  it’s much more difficult to get him to act serious.  ❛  no, no chores.  please.  i’ll die of boredom.  ❜

BART CHUCKLES, nudging Tommy back gently as he unwraps his arm from around him. “Imagine all the cool stuff we can do together between the two of us, oh so many possibilities.” He’s already listing them off in his head for a rainy day. “What a sick burn, how does he feel that you’re faster? My family douche’s name is Eobard. All around terrible person on my mom’s side. Thinks I’m an abomination and shouldn’t have been born so yeah – an asshole alright.”

tommy’s already squirming excitedly.  it’s way too exciting, having a conversation at his own speed.  “ eobard.  that’s a douche name if i’ve ever hear one.  sorry he thinks you’re an abomination.  you don’t seem too abominable to me, honestly.  what makes him think so ?? ”
