It felt like they’ve been falling for forever. No bottom in sight and no clue when to time their spell to cushion the fall. They really might fall to their deaths here.

“There has to be something!! It has to lead somewhere!!”

“There’s nothing!”

They can’t regret the plan now. Not here, not later.

“..Did someone cast something?!”

“N0?!”

“I didn’t!!”

“Then what is this?!”

“SM0KE?? BLUE SMOK3???!”

“Oh Heights, it’s physical. ITS PHYSICAL.”

The massive hole that led to a dark abyss was causing some heated discussions between the team.

“Rem, I like y0u and all, but w3 don’t know h0w f4r this thing g03s for!” Rogue emphasized the ‘thing’ with his arms hovering and flailing above the hole.

“But she has a point,” Knight knew this was their only clue as well. “This hole never appeared until we heard that giant crash. Now it’s here and our only lead.”

“We c0uld possibly F4LL TO 0UR D3ATHS?”

“We have a feather spell! Or even simple jump boost spells! There’s things in our books that can cushion our fall!”

“You have every right to be worried, but our answers are down there, Rogue.”

“…..aaaaaugh.”

They’re both right. The idea of falling for who knows how long is still insane to him, but if Hero is alive down there, then there’s a way to survive.

“If I die, I’m killing you both.”

That was a joke they needed.

Taking each other’s hands, they stood over the giant crater leading to a dark abyss. No matter what, they won’t let go. No matter what, they’ll find a way to live the fall.

“You better be alive, Hero.”

Counting down from three, the party plunged into the abyss.
