Text: How are you doing? It's been ages since you came around for dinner
Text: I’ve not had time to breathe, to be honest. Not since Oz was arrested.
Text: but it’s always wonderful to hear from you. How are you?
gardenerwithoutborders:
Text: When is your next free night? I’m sure your schedule is more difficult than mine now.
Text: Great lawyers deserve a night off. Seriously, name a night and I’ll make it work.

He hesitated a moment before responding, the idea of stepping away immediately bringing London to his mind. “…How can you be sure,” he mumbled into the fabric of the other’s clothing. “This case… This could take months– if not years to be settled in court, win or lose, couldn’t it?”
“It could. Or...maybe the prosecution just wants to get it done and over with. Oz is a big fish. It could go fairly fast.” At least he could hope for that. As much as he believed that the man was innocent and deserved the best defense he could get, he didn’t want it to drag out forever.

Text: You should come by for dinner sometimes soon

Text: Don’t worry, your batch is coming but I was unhappy with my last batch of snickerdoodles
Text: I figure with everything else going on for you, you could use some nice anticipation to distract you for once

“I’m still not happy you’re representing a horrible man,” he admitted, pouting as he snuggled closer to Spencer. “It feels wrong. I wish you didn’t have to,” he added, even though he knew it was selfish.
Spencer sighed. “It’s not like I do not know he has done some...bad things. But, Sam, he didn’t do this.” He held on to his Claim tightly. “I’m sorry this is upsetting you. When it’s over...I don’t know. Maybe I can step away.”

Text: I’m doing well all things considered! Baking far too much, but I think that’s expected considering the circumstances
Text: I do have some good news to pass along soon, but I’m not going to tell you any more than that just yet
Text: As well as can be expected.
Text: Oh? I haven’t been the receiver yet. I might be offended by my lack of baked goods.
Text: No fair, Lady Di. But if it is good news, I’ll wait.

We Should Talk [SPAM]
submissive-sampson:
Despite being so close, Sam couldn’t have felt further from Spencer, noting the lack of touch in greeting painfully. He gently nudged Austin from his lap, the dog jumping to the floor as Sam turned and all but launched himself into Spencer’s arms, longing for contact and praying the other returned his affections. He shook his head gently, nesting it against Spencer’s throat as he mumbled, “I missed you.”
Immediately, Spencer’s arms wrapped his arms around his submissive’s body, lowering his lips to the top of his head as days worth of tension left his body. “Missed you too. So much.” He left his nose buried in Sam’s hair, refusing to let go now that he had him back in his arms. “Love you, Sam. More than anything.”
We Should Talk [SPAM]
Sampson originally had put off telling Spencer his good news because he was saving it for their anniversary… Only then shit started hitting the fan. And the surprise trip to London– well, it simply fell apart. He went without Spencer to meet the individuals interested in helping produce Romeo & Juliet on an even more grand scale, and it had felt simply wrong. Still– when was he suppose to tell his Dominant, when the man was knee deep trying to defend a man who had allegedly killed a friend and actor of Sam’s in the very same play? It disgusted him to even consider what Spencer was doing, if Oz was actually guilty.. Even if Spencer had to for sake of family. Ultimately though.. he knew bottling all this up didn’t help, and things had been tense with the Dominant ever since he came back, making himself busy any time Spencer was free enough to be home. It was exhausting and draining.. And unhealthy for them both. It had to stop.
And that was how Sam found himself curled up on the couch in just pajama pants, with a blanket wrapped around Austin and himself as he waited for the Dominant to return home.
@spencer-montague
Spencer felt like every day was longer than the one before. Even with extra staff the he was working far too long. Sam being upset and gone hadn’t helped matters. Even after he’d returned they were still off. He’d forced himself to go home at a decent-ish hour, hoping to at least rest even if Sam was still on edge and not really speaking to him.
He entered quietly, dropping his bag at the door. Finding Sam and Austin waiting was a surprise. A welcome one after days of stress. He moved to sit next to his submissive. “Hey,” he greeted, reaching out to scratch Austin’s head. “I thought you might be in bed already.
Text: Have you seen him yet? This is ridiculous.
Text: Yes. I agree that it is but of all people, I need you to remain calm. No one in the family can talk to the press. Make that clear. And increase the security on the Tower.
martinamontague:
Text: I have no doubt about that - and Oz will know that too.
Text: Absolutely, I’ll start a search immediately. I can send you a few admin staff from the Tower straight away if they could be of help since they are already vetted.
Text: I’ll take whoever I can get that is competent and will keep their mouth shut to the press.
It is better to risk saving a guilty person than to condemn an innocent one.

Text: I’m about to issue a statement to the family so don’t worry about that and Nox is already working on security.
Text: How is he holding up?
Text: I won’t lie. This is going to be a hard road.
Text: I need bodies. My small staff isn’t going to cut it. I need investigators and paralegals. Can you help get them vetted and to my office quickly?
