parties were not typically able to fit into the very busy schedule of spencer dempsy. today, however, it was unavoidable. so they decided to make the best of it. sipping carefully out of the blue plastic cup, smile spreading across her face as he explained the interesting fashion choice, “i think it could be a sort of claiming ritual,” she giggled, “so i think you may be stuck with it,”

          this might just be a first for sylvain, he thinks. usually when asking someone out on a date he would be the ditcher, and not the one left behind, having to wait for a whole half hour by the dorm entrance for them. not that it’s of his concern; he would have skipped classes anyway, and there’s plenty of fish in the sea if this one happened to escape from his hook. speaking of which. time to put on his charming smile. ❝ ah well, no use waiting any longer. though i wouldn’t mind spending my afternoon with you instead. ❞

to no one’s surprise, spencer never went on many dates. usually her head stuck in a book, or her voice too loud wherever she went. she couldn’t say it didn’t hurt her feelings, but that was a conversation for the other side of her pillow. spencer dempsy had to put on a good face, she had to be unfazed by the world and what she had been given. so when sylvain spoke to her, she could feel her eyes rolling before he even finished his proposal, “and tell me why i don’t believe you?” she laughed, hints of sarcasm slipping through, “as lovely as it sounds to be your rebound tonight, it’s not going to happen.”

“Hold on,” Elliot started, “You’re telling me that I have to pay a fee of 250 dollars … Like actual money because I have an outstanding hold on my library account?” He asked in both shock and annoyance as he approached the help desk in the library. His voice echoed throughout the large library… So much so that he almost clasped a hand over his mouth. “Pardon my French here… but what the fuck? How does that even happen?”

some would say the amount of caffeine spencer consumed was enough to kill any normal person. but of course spencer wasn’t normal in the slightest. she spent most of her time in the library, which of course meant she often saw people blowing up over library politics and money. she had no patience for it. she needed to borrow a reference book from behind the counter where the current drama was happening, so she inserted herself into a situation she had no business being in, “it happens when people don’t return things to the library, that’s how this whole thing works.” she crossed her arms, standing beside the desk.
