I wasn't going to, but just wondering. If someone'd use your oc's art for rp but credit you and give you all the design props (not personality if they change it or whatever, idk), would you mind?

I personally wouldn’t really like the original characters being used in any way, honestly. Even if the credit is given.I’m glad to hear that you like the design as much as wanting them to be used in your rp, however, I want to keep my characters as mine.

I might sound selfish as hell but original characters for me are somewhat.. personal in some sense because I feel like I pour so much of myself into them - not necessarily giving them actual traits that I have myself in any way but well. There was a point.

I’d be more than glad if I was given a task for character design commission or something, I’d be glad to do it and letting it for you to use as much as you’d like even if the original design and such were mine but.. I just want my actual originals to be for mostly for my own joy if that makes sense.

I’m sorry if that came out to be rude or anything.

“Giving credit” doesn’t count when it’s literally someone else’s already created and developed OC. You don’t know that character, you don’t own that character, you just like how they look and want that.  It’s not selfish at all to deny people using your OC’s face, it’s your OC and not anyone else’s. 

If someone used a canon anime character’s face they’d be called out wouldn’t they? It’s exactly the same with personal OC’s. They are already existing, developed beings with personality of their own. And people shouldn’t be allowed to claim their face for themselves and twist them into something else.

You’re not allowed to take someone’s OC and turn them into your OC. There’s no argument. That’s called stealing.

Not to mention it really is not that hard to create your own oc? It doesn’t matter if you can’t draw, i’ve been in plenty of rps where if you didn’t have a visual picture all you needed to do is describe what your oc looks like. If you’re so desperate you just HAVE to have a visual of what your oc looks like, maybe ask someone to draw them if they’re doing oc requests? Or better yet, commission an artist.

Why do you people try to find any loophole possible to steal someone else’s character and claim it as your own. Faceclaims are not ocs. Faceclaims are just the theft of someone else’s original character.

I don’t know how this faceclaim thing started, but it needs to stop.
