Came back from Supergirl and I have a lot of thoughts.
First of all, it’s good. I enjoyed myself and I think most people will too. Millie Alcock is amazing, Lobo was great. There’s a few major changes from the source material, but some of the changes seem warranted and there’s one controversial change that I felt was appropriate and fitting for Kara. Ruthye was good, some reviewers hate to see a young girl that isn’t sweet and innocent.
It was a tad repetitive. It didn’t have as much staying power as Superman. It’s definitely firmly in Superman’s shadow as a movie. (Speaking of, I wish there was an acknowledgment of how Clark’s goodness affected Kara. Oh well, maybe in Man of Tomorrow).
I have a lot of thoughts still so I might add to this, but overall, Watch it if you have the desire and the resources.
I really want to see Kara and Clark together going forward tho and become like siblings :)
if/when I start streaming, I might play through all of deltarune and try and beat the secret bosses. Would you guys be interested in that?
So… I spent the entire day yesterday playing Deltarune and not working on Supersons vs Ra’s… and then I spent an hour drawing Susie this morning. So far, spending my days off really productively as you can tell.

Okay, I read Woman of Tomorrow in preparation for the Supergirl movie on Friday and while I loved it and can’t wait to see it on the big screen, I do have a critique.
I wanted Kara to be more of a mess. Like she’s drunk in the first little bit, but once they get to the yellow sun planets she’s just kinda Clark but maybe a bit sassier. I wanted her to be guarded and apathetic not because that’s how she naturally is, but that’s how she forces herself to be so she doesn’t get hurt more.
I’m hoping they go more in that direction in the movie, but I’m not complaining if they don’t. I mean I might, but it won’t ruin the movie for me you know?

idk if this is controversial or not, but I really like when non-professional writing like fic has hints of author bleedthrough when it comes to like, what different people assume is common knowledge. Like sometimes I’ll be reading a fic and it’ll just be obvious that the person writing it is either obsessed with medicine or has been to medical school, because they’ll use terms that are just a shade too technical without explaining them. It’s never the super specific stuff that they’d know other people are unaware of, it’s always the things that once you’ve known it for a while you forget it’s niche knowledge. It’s fun because as a fanfic reader it reminds me of how this is a fun hobby community, where everyone has their own thing going on outside of fandom. Everyone’s got their own specialties and they can’t help but write that into their work sometimes

The idea that whenever Damian is dramatic, Bruce and Talia says he gets it from the other. Knowing damn well that they’re both theatre majors in another life.
Like, Damian is five years old and he’s packing his things and running away because CLEARLY Talia doesn’t love him enough to give feed him (he wants a cookie but they’re going to eat supper in five minutes). “You’re just like your Father.” Talia says to him once he has his cookie after supper.
Then Damian is eleven and he’s waxing poetic about the cow they found. How cruel it would be to leave her behind and now he’s swore off meat. Bruce is already thinking of where to build the barn when he tells him “You get that from your Mother.”
