Hey I know I've been absent on the progress of my window farm finals week has just caught up with me and I haven't had time to upload any pictures! New pictures coming Friday!
From the top middle like your reading:
Basil Cilantro
Habanero Serrano Sante Fe Grande
Jalapeño Pasilla Bajio Cayenne
Pablano Sweet Banana Anaheim
O Bell Peppers Cubanella S Bell Peppers
(observation regarding the organic verse store bought peppers, they aren't growing like I initially suspected, the store bought peppers are growing faster. Thinking about it further I realize that the store pepper were probably modified to grow faster, either genetically or selectively)
They're all officially sprouted into lil seedlings! They all look healthy and are growing really fast! I have to get them up in my window in the next couple of days or they won't have any room left! I did just check pH and the rock wool is back up to & but I can't afford to douse it in lemon juice again since it still has organic matter and I'm not gona rick any mold or bacterial growth on my lil peppers. I'll just have to hang tight until I can get the pH balance from my brother
My Serrano is already doing amazing!
All my seeds are either sprouting or about to sprout from late germination phase! I’ll be getting then up in my window farm system this weekend when my bro visits. So excited to see my peppers growing!!
Info on the back of my Basil seed packet, not typical salsa mix but I envision maybe a spicy pesto mix or spicy marinara sause :)
Info on the back of my Cilantro seed packet, whats salsa without cilantro?!
Info on the back of my Serrano, Habanero, and Sante Fe Grande seed packet, trifecta of spicy!
Day 2 of basil germination, lil guy is already growing crazy fast I foresee tons of homemade pesto and basil flavored dishes! Also all my peppers are also beginning germinate and signs of my cilantro as well
Info on the back of my Jalapeño seed packet, again with the 'warning' label of hot... cus I defiantly 'don't like spicy food' * sarcasm*
My first green bits! My basil is germinating!
Info on the back of my Cayenne Peppers seed packet. My favorite part is the "(Hot)" label hehehe
Info on the back of my Pasilla Bajio, Anaheim, Sweet Banana, and Poblano seed packet. Still waiting for germination to show
Info on the back of my Organic Bell Pepper seed packet, no information for my harvested store bought bell peppers for comparison.
Info on the back of my Cubanella seed packet, just some extra info while I wait for my seeds to germinate, also since its snowing outside and they're close to the window I added a heating mat pad under a rug under the seeds so they don't freeze in the window, its been keeping them at a nice 60-70 degreesF, hope this works in my favor for germination. Any advice on hydroponic germination is always helpful <3
My ghetto germination box in the window, but I'm kinda worried with it being cold out I might have to find a way to keep my seeds warm even if its sitting at 60 degrees F at the lowest a night, these are peppers that I'm trying to germinate.. hum
This is my farm on the official windowfarms.com! I'm hoping I can follow some methods from other testers and then input some of my own data into the giant web of the R&DIY community, yay research!
