How dare there be mosquitoes in my room? This blood is only for vampires
I was thinking of a pride art challenge people could do with their OCs, because I thought it'd be cute! A queer/trans artist with their creations.
but then I realised that same challenge would be infinitely more funny with folks who have atypical or horror OCs
I think some of the loneliness of autism is that you feel like you hurt people just by Interacting Wrong, but you don’t know how to Interact Right, and the more effort you put into it, the more exhausted you are and the more artificial it comes across (with the end result of people still being upset with you). and it’s not anyone’s fault for not liking Being Interacted With Wrong, and it’s not your fault for doing it so wrong, but it is very, very lonely.
Y'know what's a fun (not fun) experience I don't see talked about enough?
When you need to get off, your usual solo methods aren't cutting it, and you're too ace to be into hookups/one night stands.
No, you’re not more ace for not being into hookups or one night stands. That’s not how it works. Please stop. I know that it’s “just a joke”, but it’s not funny.
I didn't say "more ace". Nobody is "more ace" than anyone else, because asexuality isn't a hierarchy.
Furthermore, this post isn't a joke. It's my lived experience as a sex favorable asexual, and I will not stop talking about my lived experiences just because they don't fit the narrative currently exclusively accepted in asexual spaces.
If my posts don't resonate with you, that's fine. But that doesn't make them — or me — wrong for existing. Asexuality looks different for everyone.
“The current narrative accepted in asexual spaces” IS that someone can be “too ace to be into hookups/one night stands”. In fact, it’s the current narrative everywhere. I don’t remember there ever being a different narrative.
I have to tell people over and over and over again that yes, i’m trying to hook up with people, yes, i’m still asexual, and then i have to deal with people being CONFUSED THAT I EXIST because they can’t even imagine someone like me existing. I can’t fucking believe this, you’re a sex favorable asexual and you’re spreading this narrative? How can you do that?
You didn’t need to say the exact words “more ace”, it was implied. You can’t just say that you’re too ace for one night stands and then be like “asexuality isn’t a hierarchy”. THAT IS LITTERALLY WHAT I’M TELLING YOU WTF?? You’re implying that the more you dislike hookups and one night stands, the more ace you are. You’re doing this by claiming that a person can be “too ace” for those things. That’s not how anything has ever worked.
“It’s my lived experience as a sex favorable asexual” YOU DON’T HAVE TO INVALIDATE OTHER SEX FAVORABLE ASEXUALS TO TALK ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES. The rest of the universe is already doing that!
I am so, so fucking tired of constantly having to explain that i exist and that i’m not some freak of nature, but at least i’m expecting to have that conversation with people who aren’t sex favorable aces. The rest of the world simply doesn’t understand that we exist, that’s just how it is. But you’re a sex favorable ace! You know what it’s like, and yet you act like this? Wtf?
Y'know what's a fun (not fun) experience I don't see talked about enough?

so crazy to me that mormons aren’t embarrassed about their whole deal even a little bit. they’ll gladly tell strangers that they’re a member of the lds church as if that isn’t one of the single most incriminating and humiliating things to be in the entire world.
…sometimes I forget that not everyone knows what being controlled through religion is like, so I will now try to explain it. I grew up in a controlling religious household.
Think of something that you just know is true. It’s just common sense, it just makes sense, of course you believe in it. Whenever you show any sense of doubt, people around you visibly react as if you claimed the earth was flat. You’ve believed in this thing your entire life, at least you think you have, because you don’t remember a time before it. If you ever have doubts, people that you trust with your whole heart immediately tells you that this thing is true, and why would they lie to you?
And then, one day, a stranger comes up to you. They ask you if you believe in the thing. What would you say? Would you lie out of embarrassment? Probably not.
A big part of controlling someone is isolation. That’s why cults often isolate their members from the rest of the world, or speak badly about people who aren’t part of the cult. This doesn’t necessarily have to mean that you never interact with anyone with different beliefs, it can manifest as the people around you constantly telling you that your beliefs are the only ones that make sense. That everyone else is evil, or confused, or just lack knowledge about how the world works.
I have never been mormon, and i’ve never met a mormon person. But i’ve been the person who said ridiculous, strange things out loud without embarrassment. I can’t stress this enough, it feels like the truth to you! It feels like you’re saying that the earth isn’t flat! It doesn’t feel humiliating because why would it? You believe that it’s true.
The thing is, if you start having actual, serious doubts, your whole world falls apart. It’s terrifying. It’s not something that I would wish on my worst enemy. After all, if this wasn’t true, everything you thought you knew about the world could be false, too. And what if you’re wrong? You could be destroying your relationships with everyone you love over nothing.
Please try to understand that if you’ve grown up around people who taught you actual science and reason, that doesn’t make you better than anyone else, it just means you’re lucky. I believe that everyone should have that experience, not just the ones that happen to get lucky. But people who have “weird” beliefs are usually either experiencing some sort of psychosis, or being controlled by someone who wants power over them. Saying that their beliefs are “embarrassing” or “humiliating” does usually not help, it can make the whole thing worse, because it isolates them further. Especially if someone is telling them that the rest of the world hates them and lacks knowledge and just doesn’t understand. Especially if that person is trying to control them by doing this. That person can then be like “See? They don’t understand us. They hate us. They think we’re embarrassing.” Even calling it “weird” like I did could possibly be an issue, depending on the group/belief, but I wasn’t sure what else to call it.
Does anyone else feel like they’re just wasting their life away?
I want to have close friends, but I just have people I kinda know a little bit. I want to do interesting things, but I just end up spending my free time scrolling on my phone and very rarely doing something, and when I actually do something it’s like hey look I made this necklace out of literal trash or this zine or whatever, yay
And then there’s nothing left to do because I’ve already done the thing
Today so far I’ve been to a lecture, spent 6 hours and 40 minutes on my phone (although to be fair 1 hr and 40 minutes of that was doing schoolwork and doing a summer job application using my phone instead of my laptop for some reason lol)
Then I cooked pasta with premade sauce while listening to dear Hank and John.
It’s 18:31.
I know that almost everyone except for rich people do chores and job applications and stuff, it’s not that I have a problem with mundane things, it’s just that I feel like my life only consists of mundane things and nothing else. Does that make sense?
During lecture today, the lecturer asked how much water the average person uses in their daily life.
One student’s answer started with “according to AI, this is how much water is used every time you wash clothes…”
ACCORDING to AI?
You could have just looked that up using an actual source in the time it took you to use the trash generator! You might as well have made a number up! In fact, i would have respected that way more. “I’m guessing that quite a lot of water is used when we wash clothes, like (number) or something” would have been a perfectly acceptable answer.
“I don’t know” would have been an acceptable fucking answer.
I really don’t want this to be interpreted as ableist “ai users have low iq / don’t know anything” bullshit. It’s okay to not understand something. It’s okay to not know something. It’s okay to struggle with learning something.
It’s incredibly fucking ironic to use GENERATIVE AI to answer a question during A LECTURE ABOUT WATER USAGE
I love spiders
This is the content that tumblr recommends to me, and I feel like that says a lot about me as a person
A while ago, I was having a conversation with some people. A question came up that nobody knew the answer to, so, as you normally would, a person typed in some stuff on her phone and was like “oh, it turns out it’s like this!”
Completely normal conversation so far. The search result that the person got seemed a bit off to me, but i didn’t think that much of it at the time.
Then, later, I caught a glimpse of her phone and… it was ChatGPT. She hadn’t used a search engine like a normal person would. She had used ChatGPT.
Please just kill me now.
If I’m the hero that we deserve, that’s incredibly concerning. I thought this world was worthy.
Why does this book in my university book store have an ace flag on it lol
I don’t want to interact with anything or anyone right now because then I might feel emotions and I don’t have the energy for that right now
Stance non-conforming
Fuck it, I’m tired of having no name for this, I’m coining a term.
This is an umbrella term for anyone whose sex or romance stance doesn’t “align” with their orientation according to society’s norms. This includes alloromantic romance repulsed people, cupiosexual people, and so on.
This allows people to share this part of their identity without disclosing private information about themselves, such as their sex stance.
I’m not sure what to call this, and I don’t know if my name and flag suggestions are even good. I’m just tired of feeling alone. If you want to suggest a different name or flag, feel free to do so!
