{prompt 2: a job outside of elysium}
Natasha decides to brush up on her ballet skills and begins to work as a teacher at a local dance academy. Of course, she has impeccable skills and references so it’s easy to get the job. While it seems like the expectations for students are a lot less strict than those Natasha experienced back in Russia, she truly enjoys working with any and all ages that come to learn.
In a way, this job is slightly therapeutic because Natasha is able to share her knowledge in a positive way, rather than continuting to associate dance with some of the less memorable moments of her past.
No one’s the same as they used to be Much as we try to pretend No one’s as innocent as could be We all fall short, we all sin But now we aren’t looking backward We won’t try raising the dead We only see what’s in front of us We only see straight ahead

“It’s no biggie, really.” he said and scratched the back of his neck. “You weren’t disturbing anything, I was kind of just … chilling, ya’ know ?” he mumbled and tried crossing his legs before deciding that was just more uncomfortable.
It was hard to look her in the eye while she spoke, the dim light and her soft voice were definitely not helping his situation. “Totally understandable, I do to sometimes.” he said as he quickly glanced over at Natasha before swiftly adjusting the position of the pillow on his lap. “ The unfamiliar is difficult for a lot of people, this is my house just as much as it is yours, go ahead and sit.” he said with a smile as he patted the spot next to him.
“Chilling,” She repeated as she sat down, letting the word roll off of her tongue. “Is that what this is called by you kids?” Natasha paused, “What’s Netlifx and chill then?”
She smirked, “Kidding. I’m hip. I know the lingo. Just, where I’m from, chilling takes on a bit of a colder and icier meaning.”
Natasha leaned back, resting her head against the top of the couch and turning her head to look at Tommy. “And what are you in here for? You’re a little young to be a dangerous weapon of mass destruction unless you’re one of Xavier’s kids I suppose...”
She studied him, reminding herself that she had technically been a dangerous weapon of mass destruction at a young age too.
Shaking the thought away, Natasha brought her knees up, tucking them under her chin and staring at the dark flat screen tv.
“Do you think the Kardashians are on this late? That will probably put me to sleep real quickly,”
spiderspitromanoff :
“Sorry,” Natasha shook her head sleepily and took a few steps more into the room.
“I didn’t mean to disturb you,” she scratched the back of her head before taking a seat on the couch. “I just- have a hard time sleeping sometimes.” Natasha paused, “I think moving to an unfamiliar place is making it act up again. Do you mind if I sit here awhile?”

Being restless at night was the worst, seeing as there was really no one else around to do anything with. Yet Tommy didn’t 100% mind being alone, it enabled him to have some much deserved ‘me time’. He sat alone on the common room couch, watching a video on his phone, hands somewhere they probably shouldn’t have been.
He quickly shut off his phone and grabbed the nearest pillow before turning around to face the voice entering the dimly lit room. “ Jesus you scared me, not a nightmare but i nearly just had one when you turned up out of nowhere.”
“Sorry,” Natasha shook her head sleepily and took a few steps more into the room.

Natasha walked down the dim hallway, combing her fingers through her hair. It was quiet, as everyone was either asleep or in their rooms. It might look like she was headed to the gym, but she couldn't help that yoga pants and a big shirt were easy (and unembarrassing) sleep wear.
“Did you have a nightmare too?”

Clint: I'm not being a grouchy old man I am just justifiably insecure about my body
Clint: Also you're like the third person to call me old today, don't say that
Nat: But... you are old. Are you having a midlife crisis? Is that where this insecurity is stemming from?
“The one and only,” he replied, assessing the redhead in front of him. Natasha Romanov, spy, assassin, avenger…friend or foe? They had worked with each other, once. Fought each other, too. Had there been more? He couldn’t remember. Judging by her stance, she probably hadn’t come to seek him out intentionally.
He wondered if she would stop to converse or just be on her way. It was strange, to picture himself making small talk with this woman, after having been so hostile to each other. And yet they were there, now living in the same building, sharing common areas. If there was a hatchet to be buried, the sooner would be the better. As confusing as it was to be an brainwashed 90 year old ex-assassin, it would be harder if he didn’t try to maintain civil relationships with the housemates.
“Can I help you with something?” He asked with a small smile.
Natasha noticed she had tensed up and relaxed her shoulders, cocking her head to the side.
“No, I- I just wasn’t-” She shook her head, “I mean, it makes sense that you’re here but it’s still weird to see you- here.”
For all the years that he was in and out, frozen and thawed, manipulated and free- Natasha couldn’t describe the feelings she had at this moment. Relieved was definitely a top contender in terms of word choice, at least.
She decided to stick with small talk instead of asking questions.
“I can show you around if you’d like,” Natasha flashed a friendly smile.

Clint: Because it's not about you seeing my junk, it's about everyone else seeing my junk.
Clint: Do you know what it's like to share a locker room with an Asgardian god and a genetically enhanced super soldier?
Clint: It's humiliating.
Clint: Also there are kids around, come on Nat!!
Nat: Aw :(((( Does someone feel a little inferior? Poor guy. At least you've got your humor.
Nat: It's just human biology. And they're of age. Why are you being such a grouchy old man about this??
“I’m just giving my opinion here but, redheads are cuter. Blonde is nice too, but you can never go wrong with red.”
“Thanks. I’ve been red for a long time. I thought a change might be nice... Have we met? I don’t think I’ve seen you on any missions before.”
Home was a foreign concept to Bucky. The last time he had truly had a home was in…1942? After that, he’d had nothing. He had gone to war, and then he was a prisoner, had gone back to fighting for his country before being captured again. From being a prisoner, to a weapon, frozen an incalculable amount of time, to becoming a fugitive, a SHIELD operative and now… He wasn’t sure what he was. He had free will, technically. But weren’t they forced to live at Elysium?
Bucky looked around his room. He’d had chosen the smallest room he could find, but by Tony Stark’s standards it was fairly bigger than anything he could have expected to live in. He barely had enough clothing to fill a duffel bag, a few pairs of jeans and distressed sweats, pull overs thinned out from wear.
The space was too big and too empty, while furnished with more things he had ever owned in his life. Bucky wasn’t sure how to deal with this, with anything. There had been discussion of him going back in the ice. Of him being a danger, with his instruction manual in the wind.
The dark haired man decided not to wallow on these thoughts for now. He would have enough time later at night when he wouldn’t be able to sleep. He pulled on his favorite faded red henley shirt over his head, folding the left sleeve in on itself so it wouldn’t fling about as he walked around, but not so much that his stump would be visible. Apparently, it made the others uncomfortable.
Just as he walked out the door, he heard a set of footsteps approaching in his direction.
Natasha was getting better at navigating around Elysium. The first couple days she had wondered around in circles, making a mental map of the place. She asked Tony to see the floor plans but he “couldn’t locate them”. However, Natasha knew this was just to annoy her. There was no point in hacking into his computer when she was safe and had time on her hands; might as well do it the old-fashioned way.
Now, a few days after move in, Natasha was able to take in and recognize the small details; lightbulbs, wallpaper, carpet colors. The rooms were slowly beginning to fill, as old partners and strangers trickled in.
Natasha was walking down one hallway that was, for the most part, uninhabited. She assumed this was where the less desirable rooms were, the last choice for everyone in Elysium so far.
That was when she heard the door opening and a figure stepped out in front of her.
The dark mop of hair, the red shirt, the face.
“Bucky?” Natasha asked, her voice almost a whisper.
“I mean, I feel like you would look good either way, so it’s really up to you.”
“Thanks... Peter, is it? You’re the galaxy guy, right?”

“I could never forget, sestra. I just mistook your pre-coffee face with a too-much-booze face.”
“I suppose they look similar. I’d love to do a side-by-side comparison. Maybe we should have too much booze and make too-much-booze faces?”

Natasha: I'll give you $50 if you go skinnydipping in the pool.
Clint: Can't you at least buy me dinner before asking to see me naked?
Clint: I like a little romancing first, Nat.
Natasha: Maybe a shot or two.
Natasha: It isn't anything I haven't seen before. Why so shy?
