Small child (11/12) is playing Pokemon Go whilst his mam is getting a phone contract out. The kid asks to go to the other side of the store because there is a Drowsee he really wants. His mam shouts at him telling him to shut up and be quiet, only babies play Pokemon and he should grow up. Que me, blaring the Pokemon theme tune over my Sonos speaker whilst actively singing along. I've never seen a kids face light up so much! As it was closing and we were all waiting for this lady's contract to be completed, the boy asked me if I play, to which I responded yes. We then had a chat about what Pokemon he had and compared Pokedex's. His mums face was epic. The boy asked her if he could go and catch the Drowsee if I came too (it was 30ft away and a clear sight line to his mum) she looked at me and I told her it would be my pleasure. So off he runs, I follow. He catches the Drowsee and returns back with the biggest smile on his face. His mum thanked me and then left with her new phone. Made my day at work totally worth it!

do you identify LGBT? i don't personally know many people in the herp community who identify as LGBT and tbh that makes me sad....

To use political metaphors (since it is election season) I am a card carrying member of the huge-flaming-lesbian party haha. My lovely girlfriend @newts-in-hats is also a reptile/amphibian keeper and a lesbian. I haven’t met many other LGBT+ herp people in real life (i agree, it is sad and disappointing), but there are quite a few on reptiblr.

Yeeeeeeah it was supposed to be a supply run. XD but I had everything he needed at home already and could/can afford him and what he needs, so! I held him four different times and finally my mom was like “just fucking get him and let’s go.” Lol.

Haha 😂 awesome! That’s why I’m not allowed to go to any expos until our trip state side. I’ve been volunteering with a kinda petting zoo? And they have a ball (who reminds me of Sebastian) and I’m now desperate for a ball python!

Typically when I go to expos, I’m not allowed taking my wallet in with me. X’D This time thought it was a supply run so I had it with me. Lol. I first saw the breeder walking around holding the snake I’m holding in the video, if you’ve seen that. XD I followed him around the show like three times and then finally he took me over to his little stand was like, “here’s the babies I have.” “Which one has the calmest temperament?” “We…my ghost…but he’s my favorite.” And then yeah. It goes from there and now he’s mine. X’D 

BP’s are great too though! I love Sebastian. <3 His food strikes suck, but I love Seb. Lol.

I saw the video! Awesome looking snek. Maybe in the new year I can look at a new addition. Negative on snakes though. Emily has put her foot down. Which I kinda get, it wouldn’t be fair on her, or the snake if I couldn’t get it out and handle it. Maybe when I with the lottery and have an entire reptile room (with fancy eyeball scanners and maybe laser beams! Oh! And a fishtank wall with puffers and jellyfish) when it’s 100% not going to get out/get very far. I’ll keep stalking your Instagram until I finally have one of my own!

Lol! My mom is the same way with snakes. When she was taking the video, she was actually standing pretty far back and had used the zoom on my phone. As long as I keep them all in a separate room, she’s fine. Lol. And I have to warn her before I bring anyone outside for baths or whatnot. But I plan on posting more of my critters on instagram so definitely feel free to stalk! I’m too iffy about tumblr still, so. Lol. Maybe not here. But instagram, definitely! I’m gonna document the shit out of Jace growing up!
