What's your favorite character portrait in Disco Elysium?

ouuu hard to answer but if we talk portrait, removed from character, it's the hanged man I think

the contrast is done so well and I hink the color choices for the face are really interesting. I like how it plays with smaller and really big brushstrokes and creates texture that way. And it is very cool how the belt he's hung by is depicted by two or three brush strokes, with just a hint of the belt buckle informing you of what it is. I think I like it because it just shows what the portraits are strong at in general really well.

Can I just say that your genderswap disco art introduced me to this part of the fandom as a whole, which in turn has contributed so much to my confidence in myself and my looks

Thank you! That's very sweet.

As someone who didn't have formal training, I think my advise might be a bit boring - learn the fundamentals. Anatomy, Perspective, Color Theory... I still practice (not enough, but I do) because there is just so much to learn. Don't let perceived lack of skill stop you though. You need to be able to draw badly without beating yourself up over it.

Another thing I've seen more in recent years: do Not worry first about brand or being recognizable. It's more important to find what you love than it is to be cohesive from the get go. That kind of advise, the "please the algorithm" advise will only lead you into a spot where you may find some attention, yeah, but you will always be competing with people who genuinely enjoy being in that niche vs. you who *chose* to shape their art according to it. That's the definition of a lose-lose
