Roles and Responsibilities

Initial Plan:

Each team member will be working to his or her strengths for this project. The group are all very talented with online content, so each member will be allocated an online account to set up and maintain over the course of this ARG’s creation.

Each individual team member also has specialties that will be utilised with this project. Elizabeth has skills in 3D rendering and animation, so she will maintain the YouTube account for this project. Vivien has skills in various types of programming, so she will create the unique layouts for the Tumblr account. Georgina has skills in creative writing, so she will help fully develop the storyline and script for this ARG. Lincoln has skills in filming, and has a lot of camera gear, so he will help us with the final YouTube video, and also documenting the final game with special equipment.

User Testing Analysis

Some major game play changes were made after the user testing. We discovered that the elements of our ARG worked well, but needed some refinement. The following changes were made to enhance the game:

Articles on the Tumblr were placed to reveal that bionic limbs are genuinely possible in current reality. 

The Tumblr layout was fixed to show image captions and larger pictures. (Changes can be viewed here)

Cytron Medical Institute logo was rebranded from 'Cytron' to 'CMI' to discourage viewers from the following, real website: http://www.cytron.com.my/ This website became an immersive part of the ARG narrative however, so no further changes were made. 

Changes to the live chat included reminding players to check the social media sites for help - during testing players did not investigate and subsequently, got stuck. 

No in-game interaction that was out of character - during testing this became necessary as players did not check social media to progress. 

The map of clues (for the Gummy Bear node) was changed from a plain map, to a .gif with flashing dots that revealed the locations.

Phone number provided in chat to encourage communication, and sometimes necessary hint giving. 

Clues were changed in the Gummy Bear node to have a print of the CMI logo, to create suspicion in players that they are not helping Eden at all.
