Under Water
under water
muffled voices and
blurry images
invisible for anyone not searching
my lungs are empty
my ears start to ring
I swim higher and higher but
I canât break the surface
and screaming wouldnât work because I am
under water
CTEC502 Assignment 3 - Poster - Create to Inspire
I created this poster with the notion of âCreate to Inspireâ and âCreativity Breeds Inspiration.â The idea behind this is that as creative technologists, while we look to innovate and create new artefacts, we draw inspiration from precedents and in turn we inspire others to challenge themselves and create something new.
During my first few months in the BCT degree, not only do we conceptualise new ideas, but we look into and research pre-existing ideas. This was something that was done for our Cards for Play ideas â my groupâs project was a game loosely based off Cards Against Humanity and introduced different mechanics. For Data Objects, I chose to go with a group who wanted to look into a fashion object as it inspired me to go outside of my comfort zone.
Through doing these projects it was apparent to me that it is always import to not only look at new ideas, but also take a look back and reflect on similar precedents â That way youâre able to get a clearer, more concise idea as to why one aspect of your idea may or may not work. I feel like with this in mind, projects can be looked at from an infinite number of angles and not just limited to what you or your group knows. For example, in my current Studio project, Signal, my teammate and I decided to look into the idea of human conditioning and priming. Neither of us had a clue how to approach it however we both started researching and doing as much as we could to answer our assumptions whether it proved them or not. With this, BCT is all about self-learning. Thereâs no hand holding, no text book learning, there may be a nudge every once and while but mostly itâs about finding something youâd like to learn and running with it.Â
