i like this trend
“they never explicitly looked at the camera and said ‘i am experiencing immense grief’ so how was i supposed to know??” i don’t know what to tell you, man. if a story doesn’t spoon-feed you the character's internal emotional state like a jar of mashed peas, you guys just willingly starve. subtext is not a myth, i promise it won't bite you.

The latest edition is dedicated to the proposition that Jews can never fully belong, that they are always visitors to society but never at home.
just want to bold, highlight, and underscore that this is ancient Jew hatred and foundational to Nazism, and now apparently the view widely embraced by mainstream publications like New York Magazine.
There are several Harlocks in the short stories written by Mr.Matsumoto, probably written before SPCH begun.
So I read one of those stories. There’s a Harlock from a colonized planet, who fought against the Earth as a rebellion. They lost in the end and all the men in the planet were either killed or castrated. Harlock was the LATTER.
Wait what??
Wow where can I read these stories? What are they called?

Kōgami is fun because he manages to fail completely at being strict with himself and gentle with others. he’s a good person who can’t stop fucking up his own life and hurting everyone who cares about him. and i genuinely like that.
he’s arrogant and often incorrect in his assumptions. he convinced himself that only he could deal with makishima but in reality that was never true. he wanted revenge and he destroyed himself, ginoza, and nearly akane in the process. in reality, makishima would have been dealt with. he would have been nonconsensually assimilated, locked in isolation or akane would have actually managed to bring back the justice system to put that freak on trial. no matter what, kou’s solution was unnecessary. even accounting for the fact that he has no clue what Sibyl is, Akane told him her plans to deal with the guy and the idea that Kou alone could have handled him is just deeply arrogant thinking.
if he were truly strict with himself he would have curbed his own selfish impulses. if he were truly gentle with others he would have considered how his actions affected the people he cared about and who cared for him. to me, his appeal lies in his hypocrisy. he IS a good man in that he’s compassionate at his core, he genuinely wants to protect others, but he repeatedly fucks up his own life and he’s awful to everyone who loves him inadvertently. it’s very human. i like that a lot.
I guess most of the developed cast is like that. very flawed, very human people. They’re charming and frustrating because they’re tend to feel human. it’s no surprise that i like psycho-pass the most when it’s telling stories about the people contained within its unreasonable world.
im fucking crying
