an eyebrow raises, a smile appears.Â
so there is a ward that reminds her of home. although none of these wards are in the sky, with birds to bring people around, there is one that somehow captures the essence of her home. and, despite the fact that heâs been to every ward, that heâs been traveling prior to meeting her to understand his new home, he says, âi would love to go with you, zelda, and hear how the ward captures the spirit of skyloft.â the ever charming smile is on his face, perhaps enhanced by the genuineness behind it. itâs not merely a mask, but an expression of his already friendly relationship with her.Â
mikazuki takes another bite of the dango, pulling it off the skewer and chewing it carefully. his mind wanders back to the past as soon as she mentioned it, looking for the one memory, the one link that is good for his return. the chewing slows, his thinking increasing. the smile that was once radiant now a bit dimmer as he comes to a conclusion â âmy masters have all passed. the good memories with their cherishing touch are gone.â fingers tighten around the skewer, eyes downcast, avoiding the gaze of his friend as he thinks, and thinks, andâŚÂ
he pushes the feelings back into the chest that he usually keeps them in, putting a lock on the memories and the thoughts that spilled out temporarily. âah, apologies,â he says, resuming the chipper disposition he had only moments ago. with the thoughts locked behind the wall, the cheerful smile back to disguise the sadness that lies deep, deep inside, itâs like nothing ever happened.Â
ânot the right time to discuss that, no?â he quips, tone light and harmless. mikazuki turns to look at the street ahead, the people that wander and joyfully living their lives. âweâre here in cotes now and thereâs no time to ruminate over the past,â he says, carefully and softly putting an end to that conversation, trying to avoid being rude, but also trying to avoid thinking about what he would rather now.Â
one hand raises to cover his mouth with his sleeves as he laughs. âiâm glad you enjoy dangos, zelda,â he says, another genuine smile on his face now that the moment has passed. with time, with age, there comes the ability to push those feelings aside and focus on the present. the present is the most important, after all. the past has passed, and the future has only one end.
âah⌠be careful zelda, you donât want to fill yourself with dango now.â a smile plays on his lips and he takes a bite of the final dango on his skewer and then discards the litter in the nearest garbage can. his eyes twinkle with delight when he returns his sights back to zelda. his smile has turned a little mischievous.Â
âahahaha⌠it appears that youâre going to be in for some⌠trouble.âÂ
this is the cotes ward and already, within eye sight, there are cafes, tea houses, and street vendors all specializing in dessert. mikazuki favors dango and prefers to have it, but he also enjoys cakes with some tea sometimes.Â
âthis is most likely the worst place to be if you have a sweet tooth.â
Oâ how wonderful it is to find one who would travel with her! Returning his smile, she nods with resolution lighting up cerulean eyes. âThen next time, letâs go together! I canât say I know the place like the back of my hand, but itâd be fun to explore and see new things, right?â She possessed a certain degree of wanderlust, one where she must explore every inch that the world had to offer. She grew up in a small community, naturally, sheâd want to see what was out there, beyond Skyloft. However, she never imagined that sheâd end up in another world. Sheâd wanted to learn more about The Surface, her lands as her fickle memories of Hylia could only provide so much... and she wanted to make her own memories as âZeldaâ. Not Hylia but Zelda. She supposes that this experience would only grant Zeldaâs wish in creating new recollections, thatâs the only positive she can see during her stay within Spirale. Â
Popping the last piece of her dango in her mouth (quite upsetting she had already finished it) she could only listen, a melancholic smile appearing on her face. More than likely her optimism in having memories to cherish and hold close to your heart had instead roused unpleasant retrospections rather than beloved memories. It had hurt. It had hurt her that she was the reason for that. Curiosity for what mustâve happened did not find Zelda, it wasnât within her place to ask let alone bring up. When he was ready to tell her, sheâll listen. So, she decides to follow in Mikazukiâs advice to halt in mulling over the past, instead she looked toward what the future offered for him, for her, for both of them! She truly believed that perhaps, just perhaps, he can make find fondness when recalling this odd city. Â
âNo, itâs alright you donât have to apologize. It should be me, Iâm sorry, I hope I didnât bring up any bad memories. But youâre right, we should enjoy our time now! Who knows how many opportunities weâll have during the present?â Though she looked forward to a brighter tomorrow that paved the path for the future there was a part of her that enjoyed the present, the now rather than worrying about what the future held.Â
At that mischievous look, she could only speculate with nervousness as to what he had in store for her. Confirmation that she had every right to be worried would come to her once it was mentioned that this was the last place she should be. That sneaky, no-goodâââ what has he done?! âOh no, this is bad Mikazuki I want to see all of these shops and try every single dessert they have. I canât believe you would bring me here!â She truly lacked self-control when it came to sweets. Her endeavors in trying to avoid the sweets would be futile as self-indulgence wins out in the end. Walking towards the streets that held all sorts of fascinating shops, Zelda would weave her way through the crowds to search for a shop where the two can relax, enjoy more desserts and talk to one another. She found him to be an excellent conversationalist, enjoying their talks. From the corner of her eye, she spots something that called for her attention. Pivoting, she faces the shop and finds that it was a small and humble looking cafe, one that had an outdoor area with cute little tables and seats with umbrellas emerging from the middle of the aforementioned table, protecting those from the sun. Deciding that she would like to spend time here (though if he refused to eat here she was not adverse to change locations elsewhere), she waves over to her newfound friend and called out to him.
âMikazuki! Can we check out this place it looks pretty nice!â
