He had come in contact with an entire family destined to help collect and categorize the very creatures he could see. He had witnessed the disbelief on his best friends face when they were young, which later turned into a sort of satisfied curiosity. Most recently, he had recognized skepticism in his lover’s soul, only to have a stable understanding that sometimes seeing was truly believing. It was alright, he had said, as he only wished for his lover to have a simple grasp on the subject— solid acceptance could always come later.
And as it turned out, someone with something much greater than a small opinion was about to come through his door.
It was quiet in the quaint library, as it usually was. The area was always occupied by more books than people. He always had his regular visitors, both skeptics and true researchers, who also turned into friends later down the road. This time when the bell door rang, a green eye glinted upward and settled on a fresh face.
Ginko sat still at his desk for several pregnant pauses just watching the young man, soulfully observing. His one eye blinked, the other eye ominously obscured by bangs. A small ‘hm’ could be heard first before any true words were spoken.
"—I think you may have found a place to call home.”
Watanuki wrenched backward at the sudden voice, throwing his arms up in front of himself as he whirled around. He'd sworn no one was here just a moment ago and was ready to leave the [sort of] creepy library.
The others appearance didn't really help with the part of his mind that automatically screamed out SPIRIT... But... No, there was almost nothing strange about this man.
"Uh I..." He was at a loss for words, still in the same defensive posed he'd gotten when he'd stumbled away. He brought himself back down, clearing his throat into his hand, "Well I..."
What if what those boys had been saying weren't true? But... Something about him... His own eyes focused on that one covered spot, staring for far too long at it.
Watanuki took a deep breath, finally finding what he wanted to say, "I know this is going to sound weird, but I think I met some people you know and they... Said you see things... Things other people can't?"
