Aiden felt nothing but fear as Splinter approached him, unable to completely keep himself from having an anxious meltdown. Why was he so scared? Oh.. Because not only had Leo filled his head with terrifying thoughts, he was also.. nervous, for his own reasons.
What if Splinter didn’t like him? Especially after what had happened with Leonardo? He wouldn’t be surprised if Splinter was angry.
“A-Agitated? No sir! I’m just..” Nervous, terrified, shy.. awkward?
“A little uneasy..” That was one way to put it. “I’m sorry, it’s not because of you– It’s actually very nice to finally meet you–”
“And you, young man.” Splinter replies simply, giving the boy a gentle smile. “I hear talk of you around our home. It seems you have made a good impression with Donatello, in particular.”
Of course, Splinter didn’t know any of the specifics-- not wishing to intrude too heavily in whatever it was his sons were doing. Not at the moment, at least. He’d needed to rest as of late.
“I offer my gratitude-- I understand my sons can be rather... difficult, at times.” At that, he looks to the side, as if expecting some catastrophe to befall their general vicinity as a result of Michelangelo’s antics. “I hope they have not been troubling you.”
