THE HALLOWED JOURNAL
Hey there Spooks, you’ve stumbled into The Hallowed Journal—where tea and fear lingers!
To kick start my first entry, I have just recently watch Conjuring: The Last Rites and found it rather entertaining. The last movie of this franchise really prove that it's one of the best through certain elements. I already expected to get spooked half-way through, and even before clicking start--was quite glad that I didn't watch it alone, but with a friend back in the office I had my internship. However, what got me gripped was how greatly portrayed familial love was in the film. From the Warrens to the Smurls, the bond was present throughout. And I think that was what the demonic entity was trying to break, other than Judy's sanity; to somehow split that connection to make them vulnerable, and easier to get hold possession to. I also like the fact that it made me realize little lessons that could be brought all throughout life. For example, the time when Lorraine Warren finally told her daughter, Judy, to stop running away from it, and, instead, acknowledge the supernatural presence and tell it right in the face that it holds no certain dominion over them; that it was simply not there. Now, that truly is a mesmerizing notion. To finally face something. To face fear and tell it that it has no power over you. Isn't that great? The ability to know that sometimes being scared is natural, but at the end, we must always pick ourselves up from the ground no matter how scared (whether it be with someone or by yourself) and continue down the road. And just like the Warrens, never stop helping people.
And also a little update, I'm already 74k into my young adult horror-fantasy, and I cannot wait to finish the book before Halloween.
Till then, it's a happy haunting, Spooks!
